With my previous kayak and cart, I always had issues traveling over bumpy and rocky areas, where the kayak would fall off the cart. Once I took the kayak to the water, I had to take the cart back to the truck. With this cart, I can travel over bumpy and rocky areas with ease, and when I remove the cart, I just put it in the back of the kayak thru the scupper holes. It’s awesome. It’s a little expensive, but it does what its suppose to do with ease.

This cart (or similar) is a must if you pull your Hobie over soft sand. You need wide tires for soft sand. I had a cart that I made out of PVC that worked great if you launch off of a paved or concrete surface but it snapped in half as soon as I took it over the sand. Also keep in mind that Hobie will not cover any damage caused by a Non-Hobie cart.As with other reviews the cost is a major setback. I priced it out with just the parts and you might save a few bucks if you buy the frame and the tires separately . You can get the tires directly from wheeleez about $60 each. Just make sure you get the right size. Another thing I noticed is that my compass does not sit on the padded crossbar. Seems like it would be less stress on the scuppers if it sat on the crossbar but I think Hobie wanted it this way.Love the way it rolls over uneven terrain. Way smoother than my pvc cart. So far, I would recommend buying but I’m curious to see how long the tires last.

We have a place on the beach and these wheel do not sink into the ground. They are easy to use fit nicely and do the job. My only complaint is the cost. All of hobie cat is priced on the high side but at least it is of good quality.

Much easier to use than the one I had that you strapped around the kayak. Tried to save a buck. Should have bought the Hobie wheels to start with even though they are more expensive.

Makes moving your Hobie a breeze. A bit expensive but durable and works well on rough terrain.
