This is a good little garden tool. It is not a yard or landscaping tool. Being stainless steel and a bit soft at that it will handle cutting out weeds and breaking up soil, but it will not survive much abuse. Out of the box as you can see in the picture, the blade side needed some touchups as it came slightly nicked and/or sloppily sharpened. That is how i know its kind of soft, it shaped fast with a file and sharpened easy with an axe stone.Once sharpened it had no problem chopping roots out when striking beds in my garden, and chopping the plants into the soil to then mix in as green manure. I also used it to dig out a bed of sweet potatoes and as a cultivator there it had no problems. The welds look fine and strong enough for working in rock free or wood free soil, but I would not see it taking too many hits against those things. So long as your use case is help in gardening and not clearing land or digging an inground bed in for the first time, then this should do fine. My only real complaint is needing to straighten up the blade out of the box. Will report back if it fails prematurely, but so far so good.

Bought this in Sept (4 months ago) and today the center tine just snapped clean off. SAD. It was very useful for a few months and I wish it would have lasted longer. Seems like the kind of thing that would be made to last. It wasn't even the weld that failed, it was the metal itself. I don't think it's really steel.
