In terms of construction, it's pretty good. It's very small and compact and the wire is well insulated. Both conductors are wrapped in a single jacket so I don't know what gage of wire is inside. The barrel is solid with reasonable flex protection. Although it is a 5.5/2.1mm barrel, I was able to use it in a type J DC jack (5.0mm/1.6mm). It made a solid connection to the thinner pin which is something a lesser made barrel would fail to do. My only issue is that when I measured the output without load, it was only 8.59 volts.
