This is a very good cord reel, the little handle on one side, with the floating handhold on the other, being an efficient combination for wrangling longer cords. My cords are new, and still highly-coiled from the box, as well as being in the front yard during Winter, for a month, powering Christmas lights, so took some effort to get them straight on the reel this first time. However, I think after being in this round shape, and stored in a warm place until next year, should be much easier next time.It handily accommodates 100', and I was even able to add my Y connecter on the end, to avoid loss, as you can see in the photo.

I actually purchased this for my 25' RV drinking water hose and it works great and I assume it would be just if not better used for an electrical cord. Simple strong construction and easy to store.

This is a nice cord reel, overall. It is not super sturdy but it will hold most residential users long extension cords. It will hold 100 feet of #14 gauge extension cord wire. If you go above #14 to #12 gauge you will not get the entire 100 feet on the reel. Twelve gauge is thicker and heavier and takes up much more room on the spool. In order to get #14 gauge wire to fit on the center of the reel you will need to slightly snip-off or file down the small "nub" that is on the outside edge of the clip that holds the wire in place as you are reeling it up. This IS NOT a big deal or "deal killer". It is simple to do and worth the effort. This reel can be stored on the floor or hung on the wall. Also, it has a hand-hold on the top so you can hold it as you reel cord in/out.This reel should work for most people. It is not a heavy duty professional reel that would be used by craftsmen each day at a job site, but it will work just fine for homeowners.

Bought this for 50' of ABR LMR 240 Coax. Easily rolls up and stores. Has enough room for my POTA Performer antenna radials while inside the bag. Seems to have good durability and build quality. I love that I can stow everything in one bag.

After taking one look at my extension cord, a buddy told me to go find a reel. So, I did - the Homeon Wheels Cord Storage Reel with Handle Driven. This storage reel came on time and does what it is supposed to do. No instructions, but I figured it was pretty much self-explanatory (it isn't, at least not for me - see below). I am not sure I'd call this heavy duty - more medium duty. The sides of the reel flex and the tab that holds the cord to start wrapping shows signs of fatigue after just one removal (and, two insertions). I will be keeping an eye on this over the next few days in case it gives out.Okay - how to use for those like me. First, I attached the cord and wound it up. And, found that the part I attached to the reel was buried under a 100 ft of cord! Where is the plug that would let it go out the side for easy use? Turns out, there isn't one. Try again.. same issue. While the cord was nice and neat, it wasn't very usable if I had to run out the entire length each time. It was on the cusp of being returned when I went to the library reference desk (okay, so it was youtube - same thing!).The best solution is to lay out your cord, find the middle and attach that portion to the hook on the reel. Roll it up and you have both ends available. Not perfect, because you'll have the reel in the middle between the outlet and you - but it works without modification. There is also a modification, but I didn't want to do that much work. :)So, if you know how to use it, then this is a good middle of the road cord reel. Does what it says it does, but nothing special or unique. Would I buy it again? yes, assuming this one lasts.

If you want to wind any type of cable on it, forget it! Not only is the plastic flimsy, it is not stable when winding it. Sometimes pulls apart which is just what you don’t want while winding a 50’ cable! My final thought is if you are winding a reel of 50’ of spaghetti it might be okay. Anything else, forget it. I realize a better quality is more expensive, but, yes here it comes” You get what you pay for.” Sorry, couldn’t resist that! Happy einding’
