Only needed the base valve. but it was obvious that our old one was stuck from old hard water buildup. The new valve stem could be turned a full turn or more by finger tip. Our old valve only turned about 1/8 turn and the water output was 140 F. Installed new valve and with using the stick on temperature label, setting the temperature we wanted was simple.

I found I had to turn it a several complete turns hotter to dial in a good temperature. Also, once I read the directions and noticed this device can be taken apart and cleaned, I realized I probably could have clean out my old one and not even needed to buy this one. I think hard water after a while builds up in these regulators and stop them from working right

..just a multi-lingual bull about specifications. I wanted the ¾" sweat type but it's ¾" female npt. Product image clearly shows 'sweat'.Now it has to be returned, which wastes my time and seller's money. Also the temperature adjustment seems impossible. i dont want to break it. the absent instructions should tell how to adjust the temperature knob, so i can be sure not to break the plastic knob off the stem.

Fit perfect with no modifications now we can adjust the hot water temp and the flow is better now too!
