First of all the color match of this cover plate was perfect with my T5 series thermostat. I know others have mentioned it has a slightly different tint but I didn't have that experience. It could be others have used it on different models than I. Secondly it was a breeze to install. It took about 15 minutes but was really easy to do. Third - when I removed my old thermostat and installed the new Honeywell, the cover plate that came with my new thermostat covered a smaller area on the wall. The walls were originally white but then painted tan by the previous owner who did not remove the thermostat when they repainted. This left an area about 6" x 6" of white on the wall. I thought I was going to have to repaint until I found this cover plate - it covered that area perfectly!

As noted, the cost is high but the style matches and it is finish quality (you also receive an electric box plate). A slightly narrower (medium?) size would be better for the T9. Note: the previous thermostat was a PRO Series TH4210U2002 and the wiring block matched without having to redo any of the connections.

Although not advertised as such, this does work with the Alexa Smart Thermostat, which is manufactured by Honeywell but doesn’t come with the equipment required for mounting to a junction box.It’s a little overpriced for what it ultimately is—a piece of plastic with holes in a specific configuration—but given the proprietary design of the newer Honeywell thermostats, it was my only option.Note that if, like mine, the junction box serving your thermostat sits behind the drywall rather than flush with it, you will need to attach it with longer screws than the ones that come with this kit. Still, I didn’t deduct any stars because the supplied screws are long enough to reach a junction box mounted in the standard fashion.The cover plate is larger than I was expecting and should be sufficient to conceal holes or markings left by any modern thermostat of any size.

This plate provided ample coverage for the existing thermostat wall that had a gap. The only problem but not that noticeable was that some particular model thermostat doesn’t sit evenly in the middle of the plate.

I replaced my gas fireplace thermostat with a digital one. The previous thermostat had a plate and when the house was repainted they painted around the plate. I didn't want to fix the wall and paint, so I decided on a wall plate for the new thermostat. This one covered the area I needed and gives a clean finish. It was easy to install, but it's way overpriced. I want to replace a second thermostat, but I probably won't because getting the wall plate makes the project too expensive.
