Welcomed a new chameleon to our family and he wouldn't eat from the dish, that was recommended by the pet store, nor would he eat from our hand/tweezers for 3 whole days! So, thats why I invested in this product and it was the BEST thing we could have possibly done for him. It comes with a short chain and a very long chain, which I chose the small chain. It also comes with tweezers and a bug catcher thing. All we do is put the feeder in his cage, pop in the insects of choice and he immediately goes to it. Once he's done, we take it out so he knows when it's feeding time and also so he has more room in his cage.**I would like to add that the only thing I was iffy about was a review I read about a chameleon getting stuck in it, so I planned on duct tapping it to prevent that from happening. Well, oddly enough, I'm assuming this item was updated and now provides 2 bars that cross eachother which prevents that from happening (see last picture). With that said, this item is a MUST have for any chameleon. Best investment for him thus far. He is very happy and healthy thanks to this. Yes it may be a little pricey but it's well worth it!

I got 2 of these to try. One for the chameleon and one for the false chameleon. No issues with dubais getting out. Hornworms and crickets can, but it takes them a while. My guys are taking a bit to get used to it. The feeder is HUGE. Would not work in very small containers but it worked in the 20 and 20+ gallon ones we have.
Fun to watch

My chameleon loves it the second I put it in the habitat he proceeded to annihilate about 20 crickets. I will say crickets can 100% escape the little dome on the chain doesn’t stop them and they won’t hesitate to jump clean out of the bowl.

My chameleon has an eye problem with one of her eyes, so feeding can be a bit difficult and the bugs tend to run away from her. As soon as I put this in her enclosure and added the roaches, it was like she immediately knew what it was and started eating from it. Couldn’t be more happy with it!

We loved the idea of this. Screwed an eye hook into a board spanning the length of the top of our champ’s habitat to distribute weight. Only problem.. we woke up to roaches having crawled out. We know they weren’t eaten because they ended up falling into his other feed cup. We’re trying to figure out a solution to them climbing up the chain (all we can think could have happened?) but pretty bummed.

I purchased this for a Bearded Dragon that was given to my animal sanctuary after the state seized several beardies from a hoarding and neglect case and the local reptile rescue was beyond capacity. He had severe MBD and had mobility issues (they have greatly improved) and has had trouble feeding for years. He finally got to a point where he does better hunting his bugs than feeding from tongs. However they often were faster than him as he’s still learning how to hunt and use his new found mobility! This was a perfect solution! The roaches cannot escape into the tank and it’s large enough that he can stick his face into the bowl or eat them off the climbing section! He absolutely loves to walk around the bowl to “chase†them! It’s definitely worth the money and very well built! It even came with some tweezers and bug spoon!

Presently using it in my chameleons cage and using small meal worms. He loves it and I love how it keeps the bugs contained.

Very sturdy and encouraged bugs to crawl around, which in turn encouraged my chameleons to eat more.

Bought for my baby bearded dragon for some enrichment and so I didn’t have to supervise feeds- it’s good quality- the hook has a screw on base to secure the top of the tank- there are two different chain lengths. When I get my tall tank for angle heads or Boyd forests it will be perfect- insects can escape even though the box says otherwise; so supervise a feed if you use this with woodies. Even with fluon round the edges, they still escaped out the bowl, not the mesh column- be careful of little toes trapped in the mesh if you’re using for a bearded dragon

I bought this not really thinking with regards to the actual weight of it - which is really heavy as it’s super well made but due to the size of my baby chameleon I was afraid it might fall and crush him . When he’s bigger I’ll use it
