The Hosa Cable D Sub To 1/4 Inch 8 Channel Recording Snake is great to use for balanced 1/4 inch phone connections at the console.

This is an essential tool to interface the MOTU 24Ai rackmount interface, unless you instead expand at the wiring level with Phoenix contact blocks. The DB-25 connectors have locking screws, and the eight male TRS connectors are logically color-coded although I really wish I had found a female version. By the time each line has a barrel connector and a male TRS from a component in my system, it is a bit unwieldy... but they do solve the problem perfectly. In my particular application (a media digitizing console), I stabilize the cabling (including coiled excess) with a wood panel. With three of these snakes attached to the 24Ai, I have 24 line-level input channels available for various audio sources.

Our church wanted to repurpose some ten-year-old Aviom gear as an audio digital snake for our video streaming. We found an Aviom Output Module on eBay to pair with our input module. The Aviom Output Module has two, eight-channel DB25 sockets for the audio. The Hosa DTP803 completed the linkage beautifully. We're only using eight channels currently, but would be confident in using the DTP803 to complete the full 16 channels. The DTP803 seems stout enough for a fixed-placement situation - it may not be sturdy enough for repeated temporary usage. The cables entering the 1/4" plugs have no strain relief. In our usage, they will remain in a fixed position. I used a bit of velcro to anchor the snake cable to the mixer, relieving any stress on the 1/4" connections.

I usually steer clear of Hosa stuff, but there was no way I was spending $200+ for the Mogami version of this DB25 cable. Usually, you're paying more for things like better shielding, but I'm getting no interference with these Hosa DB25s. The TRS side feels just a little flimsy, but it doesn't matter to me since these live in my studio rack in a patchbay and won't be frequently connected / disconnected. If you don't handle your gear like a caveman you should be fine.Tonewise, I'd be surprised if you could tell a difference. They sound great. Buy with confidence.

The shrink wrap is not quite as tight or durable as I would like if I were on the road with these, but I'm not. And in a fixed installation I can't think of what's not to like here. They came in as close a length as I could expect (I didn't have to wire my own so that's a bonus!), the connectors are durable for their intended purpose (infrequent plugging/unplugging). Construction seems fine. I wound up buying three for a 24 channel board and couldn't be happier for the price!

The cable design is good quality as is the cable jacket and casing but they changed the thumb screw design and now, even with the screw tightened all the way down, the cable connector still comes loose as the thumb screw slides right through the connector hole.Works great unless you expect to encounter a lot of traffic in your audio rack.

These snakes are better and cheaper than the other "budget" snakes. Connectors are solid and feel like they'll last quite awhile.Okay, Hosa isn't known to be a great cable company, but don't they pretty much make everything you need? Don't they pretty much work the way you need them to? Don't we all have a bunch of their cables? Yes, of course. The color coding system of these snakes makes sense to have in a dimly lit studio crammed in behind your racks. It allows for quickly plugging in your gear in sequence and getting set up faster. Also, you don't have to worry about the little numbers rubbing off. I think they're great. I'll just go ahead and order some more. In 3…2…1.

Received this the other day and took a careful look at it. It did not fit my ginormous ASUS ROG 17" Laptop -a computer that rarely fits anything. The bag itself is of the single main compartment type with relatively few additional pockets. I did like the lower power supply pocket which was very generously sized (even for my Brick sized PS). The lid design could have easily accommodated a pocket and yet did not -a missed opportunity in my book. Finally although this is presented as being able to carry a laptop and a number of addtional pieces the backpack was not as capable as my Swiss Army pack which was 20% less expensive. Over all a disappointment.

I have 2 of these hooked to my Apogee Symphony MKII. They are low noise and do not effect the quality of the sound as I perceive it.

I needed this to connect my SSL Six to the patch bay. These are solidly built and function flawlessly.

No problems at all, well built, cables clearly numbered. Excellent for the price.

When I saw this product I was very skeptical. I didn’t think it would work at all, but I bought anyways. For a few days, waited, but surprising... it came quite fast. Faster than I ever expected. After plugging in all cables I turn on the machine and I hear sound! Hooray! I jump for joy and dance for a while to the music and became very happy. I think this cable will make your life better and you will hear high quality sound emanate into your life.
