Train is absolutely everything we were looking for to go under the Christmas tree.... Everything functioning does it should, it was easy to put together, aligning the train is a pain but much easier than most trains I've had to put together, ran well,very durable, etc... it would be absolutely perfect in every way but as the title says for toddler parents it can be a lot.The only issues I have are because I have such a small child whose obsessed with trains so I urge the company to take it into account.Sound: it's cute and volume is good but listening to it on repeat gets old so with no option to turn sound off or even down it does make me want to throw it out the window after a whileBatteries: making something like this rechargable rather than using batteries would be a game changer and I would have absolutely paid more for it rather than waiting on a sale to buy it

Great first train for our toddler! I was back and forth on getting it for him, then he actually asked for a train. I’m so happy we purchased it for him! The tracks were easy to set up and came with little clips to keep the track pieces together. The clips are small, and can fall off if the track is messed with, so I do suggest close supervision with little ones around it. The train rides nicely around the track and kept our toddler entertained. It held up really well to him trying to throw obstacles on the tracks! The train would obviously derail if something was in the way, but the pieces seem sturdy. The connectors between the cars have to be put together on the track or else each one falls off while trying to connect the next, but definitely easier than other trains I’ve had. I think this is a really high quality product considering the price! We did not try the steam effect feature. We didn’t even tell my son about it because then he would want to constantly refill it.

The train runs great and the kids love it. It’s good value for the money. Obviously it’s not the quality of a Lionel set, but it runs smoothly and pretty quietly (when the sounds are turned off). As expected, it derails pretty easily if people touch it and the tracks come apart pretty easily, but overall I’m very happy with it. Some day I’ll get an LG set that will last forever, but until then, this is great and the kiddos love it. Goes through a set of batteries in 5-6 hours of running. Rechargeable would be easier, but at least you can get this running again right away when the batteries run out.

Our grandson was obsessed with this real life train set! Easy to assemble, was a good price for the quality, and will give him hours of enjoyment! He is 6 and on the spectrum, however had no problems or issues with operation!

This is plastic but is well made and holds up to abuse of a 2 year old as he plays Godzilla. He will play with it for 20 to 30 minutes until he gets bored and goes Godzilla on it. No damage to the train or cars from picking them up and dropping them.The remote control is great. Makes it easy to start and stop the train and change speeds and directions. In my opinion, getting the one with the remote is a must.It is easy to set up and put away....less than 5 minutes. There are extra locks for the track that could add a little time to the setup, but I don't use them. When placed on a flat floor, the track is stable until the monster attacks the tracks. On a carpet, you might want to use the locks.The train is easy to put on the tracks and it stays on the tracks even at full speed and going backwards. It can also run fine on the floor with no tracks (but you can't steer where it goes).The only two minor quibbles....the steam option works but is a little lackluster (but not horrible....you can still see it). I would like more track....there is enough track to put around a medium sized Christmas tree and it is sufficient for minutes of fun. But, some more track could add to the fun when we aren't putting the train around the tree. There was an option with more track but it didn't have the remote control. I think the remote is a must have.

I bought this for a party where I knew there would be 3 and 4 year old children. They did have a great time with it and it worked as it should so I feel badly about not rating it higher. The problem is it is about half the size of what it looks like on the website. It's plastic so for the middle version which costs $60 dollars I felt is way over priced. But the kids had a big time with it so it served it's purpose... but it's not impressive.

This was my 4yr olds favorite gift this year. We’re well into January and he’s still playing with it everyday. The sounds and steam are very cool! Battery life has been great too!From a parent perspective though it has some downsides.1) hard to keep on the track, easily comes off and has to be placed back juuuust right. But it does work without the track so that’s how we’ve been using it.2) doesn’t stay connected. We had to wire all the cars together bc it would stay connected.3) track has very small connector pieces that are easily lost or swallowed.

The thing we don’t like is the smaller size of the wheels. Makes it a bit harder than necessary to put all the wagons onto the rails.( Really only a minor gripe)The kids loved it and when we had it actually running laps under the tree: it seemed to embellish the whole experience for children. They also loved the train noises and the smoke from the funnel.( just add water into the boiler)The cost was good. The shipping was very quick and fair.We thought if it was no good then we hadn’t wasted a whole lot of money- but this thing looks great just as a static display.However, we’re pleasantly surprised how it turned out.Yes- we as slightly sceptical purchasers recommend it!Very happy with it.

Excellent. Good value for money! Uses 4xAA batteries. Needed small jewellers Phillips head screwdriver to release battery compartment.Ran well. Steam for smoke was awesome. Sound was great. Grandkids over the moon!!
