The reasons to consider getting this train are:- first and foremost, to teach number concepts. Each train car has a number in it that corresponds to the number on the side of an animal (with the matching amount of items on the other side). The animal snaps onto the train car. There are many ways to use these features to encourage learning number concepts.- teaching color concepts. The train cars also match their colors to an animal (the same one that the number matches to).- it is brightly patterned, has soft edges, and the cars attach fairly well magnetically.- the magnets have polarity so you need to teach your child that if one side of the train car doesn’t attach, then just turn it around. Another good lesson and like many other magnetic trains.- they fit on standard wood toy tracks.- lots of animals for animal lovers.There are some disadvantages which naturally occur from having snaps, magnets and a long train.- some little ones may not have the dexterity or finger strength to manage the snaps - this might actually be an advantage by helping them develop this.- it is a long train with the engine and 10 cars behind it. Most magnetic train sets have difficulty keeping these many train cars attached, especially when going around curves. This set does fairly well but if this is going to frustrate your child, consider giving the first five number cars and reserving the second five until they’ve gotten used to it.- the snaps are screwed on to the base of the train. They look sturdy but you might want to monitor this as the screw and snap would be a choking hazard. It is only recommended for ages 3 and over, perhaps because of this reason.Overall, this a cute train set that helps encourage learning color and number concepts and helps develop fine motor skills - while having fun. The price appears to be in line with other train sets.

We purchased this for my 2 year old and he immediately was obsessed with it and kept him playing for awhile! He loved that it was a train and dinosaurs. Very easy for him to connect and play with. Also very educational to be able to reviews colors with him

A success! While our 16-month-old can't put the dinos on top of the cars himself (it's not a skill he should have, but they also don't stick super well on top), he can put them together in a chain, and it's good problem solving for his age when he puts two magnet poles that repel. He can then problem solve (turn one around) and try to make them attract and stick together.

Von der Idee her ausgezeichnet. Leider sind die Magneten zu schwach, wenn der Zug gezogen wird. Eine Verbindung die zusammengehört (Nrn. 9 und 10) stoßen sich auf jeglicher Seite ab. Schade.
