This is perfect to protect my 58mm lens. Also ads functionality with the UV protection , getting more value for the same price.The image is exactly same in terms of clarity.it doesn’t affect the cap lens.The appearance is neutral. You will not note that is there. Just check the photo of my camera.Very good filter. Recommended.

This is a reasonably priced optical glass UV filter. The frame of the filter is aluminum alloy. The glass of the filter had no scratches. The filter is 1/4" thick. It is made in Japan.I ordered a 55 mm filter for the SONY Alpha SLR camera. The filter fits smoothly. SONY lens snap-in cap fits over the filter.I was pretty happy with the storage box because it was clearly labeled with the filter's name. Using on my Sony E-Mount lens. Overall quality is high. Good build quality. Easy to apply to the lens. No distortion. Always have a UV lens filter on your lens for protection. This is a good choice for that purpose. Recommended.

I bought this for the Pentax hd-da 35 mm limited edition macroAnd it is flawlessBut one problem once you put this on the sun tube does not extendAnd if you're shooting close up the tube likes to come out automatically and now it ain't going to work because you have a polarizer on it which stops it from extending but if you just taking standard wide shots or normal shots for that matter with a polarizer and you walk back and forth to get to focus ingest right it works flawlessly

UPDATE - OUTER THREAD BAD DESIGNToo bad the outer thread is poorly designed, and has less than one complete turn to accept a lens hood. The side toward the lens is fine, but this is on a 135mm focal length that benefits from a lens hood. I wish to use both, one for glare, one for protection. This filter is NOT recommended. The lens hood barely bites the threads, and cannot be tightened down. Since it takes the first bump out in the wild, I would expect to lose the lens hood from falling off.---previous review, filter to lens ONLY ---I am using this 49mm filter on the front of a vintage Asahi Takumar lens I wish to protect. If I get dirt, dust, or water splash on the filter, no big deal, just clean and dry. Much better than having to risk the surface glass of the lens itself.Hoya owned Asahi Pentax for a while, so I felt loyal to the brand as "matching" the camera and lens. And although they broke up the corporate combination more recently, I've had good results with Hoya filters and expect this filter to do as well.

Fit perfectly on my Canon 58mm lens and it has come in clutch for daylight settings many times. Every photographer should invest in a polarizer like this one!
