I have a multizone irrigation system in my yard and it seems that there is always a problem somewhere since I moved in about 1.5 yrs ago. This year I had zone 2 which would not operate when I started up the system in the spring. Knowing how much it costs to have the professionals come out and fix things in the system I bought myself a $10 multimeter from Home Depot to diagnose where in the system the problem existed. Using youtube videos as well as videos provided by Hunter on their website I was able to diagnose that there was no voltage difference in the connections for zone 2, thereby pinpointing the problem. I ordered this base module and found that it was exceptionally easy to pop the old one out and pop the new one in place. Hooked up the wires and zone 2 was now functional. Highly recommend trying to diagnose some of the problems with these sprinkler systems yourself and buying parts like this from Amazon before calling in the pros. I fixed the problem for something like $40 rather than then $250 that the pros would have charged.
