I’ve always been a diaphragm guy with a bugle tube but I was tired of lugging the big tube through the woods so I was looking for something smaller and easy to use. This fits the bill! Sounds great to!

Got drawn for cow elk for the first time. Had to learn fast. This was the easiest to use. I didn't think I was good enough and this sounded best when I called I learned fast the big bulls go crazy for this call. Me and this bull elk were going back and forth for an hour. Located elk for a week long all day with this thing.

Still getting used to the different shape and learning to get the sound right. I lost my original Wayne Carlton diaphragm bugle in the woods this last year and wanted to replace it -this is as close to it that I could find. The old one was great! This bugle does not have the deep grunt and growl my old one had. I'll try a larger longer grunt tube and see if I can reproduce the authentic sound my old bugle made.

Worked for 2 or 3 calls and sounded awesome. It was easy to use but..... you cant find replacement reeds. The reed it comes with is weak and will not last. If you are buying it for the grunt tube without the mouthpiece its decently priced. But do not buy if you want the mouthpiece and reed. Go with a different brand that has replacement reeds

My wife says this sounds like I am fighting a rabid clarinet. Then I played her a youtube video of Elk bugling and now she understands it works perfectly. It is a young bull sound but I think you get other reeds to change it up. Light and fairly compact compared to other calls I've seen.
