My OEM step trim kept coming loose. It was a poor design, where the little plastic clips were poorly made, and are easy to break off. This new trim piece was easy to install since my factory trim departed the truck a few weeks ago! There are no instructions, but it is easy to figure out. I’ll detail how with a few pics in case this is helpful to people.1. Place step release cap in the slots in the long trim piece. Ensure is slides easily, since this will release the tailgate step2. Remove the old trim attachment pins from the bottom of the step if needed3. Orient the new trim piece with the 2 holes facing the ground. Ensure they line up with the trim attachment points to the step. See pic of the bottom side of the step circled in red4. Snap the step into place. You may have hit the trim at the plastic attachment points to snap inThat is all there is too it. The rivets and the no step pieces are for the no step points on the side of the step. Mine were still on, so these pieces were not needed. The pics of the top side of step circled I red show were they go if you need them.No tools are needed unless you have to install the no step pieces. In that case, you would need a rivet gun. I did need to trim the bottom left side of the trim piece with a Drexel. It was 1 mm too thick. After that, it fits perfect. The install took about 2 minutes because there were no instructions. I could do it now in about 30 seconds. Overall I am impressed with the trim piece. It cost less than 1/3 of what the dealer wanted, and it seems to be of better quality. Hopefully it will last.

Thank you for all the earlier reviews and installation suggestions. The original tailgate cap that came with my 2018 F150 broke so chances are it will likely break again. I figure that I will likely need to replace it again, and I didn't want to pay for OEM part that costs two to three times as much. This tailgate cap is very slightly thinner than the OEM, but it feels as durable. I would have preferred if it came with installation instructions. However, it was easy to install. I took lessons learned from other reviews. Here are my contributions to the installation process: 1) remove all broken components that are still stuck to your tailgate, 2) remove the two old black rivets (pull out your tailgate for easy access to the rivets), 3) as other reviews mentioned: "you MUST insert the little square button cover into the long strip before mounting it", 4) aligns all the tabs to the corresponding holes and snap them in to place (use the palm of your hand or a rubber mallet for a tight fit), 5) insert the two black rivets. Mine fits like a glove. Use will likely not need all the parts that come with this kit. Only time will tell how this stands up to the weather. I will update the durability experience in a year (sooner if it warps in the heat of the sun).

This is the real deal! Fits perfectly, no broken clips, everything works as expected. Do not look at the other brands.I bought 3 from the brand that has the highest number of reviews on Amazon and each one had at least 2 broken clips. The third one had 2 partially broken clips that I was able to super glue but when I installed it I noticed the push button would get stuck and I had to push it back from the other side.

Fits my 2017 F150 Limited perfectly. It lined up perfectly and snapped into place. Very durable and comparable to original tailgate cap. I just can't figure out how to put the plugs in to hold it into place so it doesn't come off. I'll you tube or go by Ford dealer. The Ford dealer wanted well over $100. I saved a lot of money by using Amazon.

Seems equal quality to OEM for less than half the price. Fit was snug, install was quick and easy, and no modifications were required. I didn't see any aesthetic flaws in the plastic, no wonky alignment issues, and I was happy with the color match.PRO TIP: Make sure the center push button/cap is in place before installing the trim. Otherwise you'll be be breaking clips trying to get the trim back off to install the button.

Always get a little nervous of ordering parts other than OEM, but this part is fantastic with a great fit and a super great price compared to Ford that wants $200 for their part

Perfect fit on my 2016 F150. Clipped right in and came with the correct 2 body clips. I did not install the “no step†pieces as mine are fine but you will need a rivet tool to install them if you choose. Rivets are included.

I purchased this to replace the busted piece on my 2017 F150. It was definitely cheaper than OEM. Based on what I see, it's a good quality product and it was easy to install...about 5-10 minutes. I've now been out camping for a couple of weeks, moving stuff back and forth, etc and it's holding up very well. Would definitely recommend.

This was easy to install. The photos provided in a review helped, as the replacement doesn't come with instructions.

Vraiment facile à installer et semble se fixer solidement. Reste à savoir si ça va rester en place sur le long terme !!!!
