Worked to eliminate noise when using Android Auto / carplay device. Did Not work when installing between the power supply and the android auto device....still had noise, but when installing in between the factory car stereo and power for the stereo it Did eliminate the noise when using the android auto carplay device when connected to the car stereo. May seem counter intuitive because the radio on its own did not have noise, but when connecting the carplay it did - must have been ground loop formed with the radio. Note, i did try connecting the carplay device directly to the battery - still had noise unless the car stereo had this noise filter installed onto the car stereo.

Re edit: It doesn't work. It worked for one afternoon and that was it! Do not recommend. So far so good. I hooked this up to my Cobra 19dx iv and it took all the engine noise out of the car radio. I hope it continues to keep working. It was easy to install. Definitely worth the money. It was easy to connect to my existing wires and works great.

Did not work in my situation. I have static comeing from door speakers and tweeters. Not a ground loop, at least not from the engine. Not a whine, just a low volume annoying static. This did not work for me. Appears to be a good product for other applications like engine noise.

I tried this as a cheap and dirty alternative to a known noise filter like a Newmar Pc-10. Well… it’s cheap, and the output is dirty. Since it didn’t work in my application, I cut one open. It’s a more basic L-C filter than the Newmar, but I’ve had filters of this same topology that worked far better. The root problem is the inductor is just 10 turns on a ferrite core, not nearly enough inductance to block audio frequency noise like alternator whine or low frequency switching noise such as from an inexpensive LED lighting driver. It needs more turns, and honestly an iron core if it were to be effective for audio.

I had just installed a new radio in my 1995 Mercedes s500 Coupe. I noticed that once i started the car up i was getting an alternator whine. I first checked and cleaned my ground connections to the battery but found that did not fix my whine problem. I knew what i needed, a ground loop isolator. I searched Amazon and found this one. I ordered it and received it and 2 days. I wired it up and started the car. WTH?!!??! the whine was still there. I figured you get what you pay for. So i just gave up and said to hell with it. As i was pondering what to do next, i thought to myself "i wired the isolator in line with the accessory 12v line. Lets try wiring it to the battery (yellow) line of the radio." To my delight the whine was gone. This is a great product but i think people should know that this product should be wired to the battery or memory side of the radio not the accessory or ignition side of the radio.

I installed car audio as a job and installed a lot of noise filters in my day and this noise filter barely works. It filters out some of the engine noise but not enough to be useful.

It’s not perfect, but it did take most of the whine away. Not sure why so many people have bad reviews.

I’ve had an alternator whine for a while. The ground loop isolators hadn’t fixed it. This filter along with the ground loop isolators removed all of the sound. I didn’t think I needed both, but it works. So happy.

Solved the issue of the audio cutting out while engine running, with my Pioneer.

Filter obviously not tested at factory- blew in-line fuses (20 Amp) ahead of it in circuit immediately after being installed, and continued to do so when fuses replaced.
