Even though it is a little looser than the old one where it connects to the beater but it's actually more snug on the top. Overall it definitely does the job

Great replacement part, fit my ice cream maker with no problems at all. It was very easy to install and it works just as good as the original part and it doesn't make a lot of noise.

The original part that came with the Kitchenaid bowl is absolutely terrible and completely unacceptable from an engineering standpoint. It failed almost immediately as the tiny metal shaft was no match to the plastic component that was supposed to rotate the dasher while churning. This aftermarket part is very well built and can withstand the typical loads associated with churning ice-cream. I recommend this hub assembly for your ice-cream freezer bowl.
