I’ll use this with a magnetic mount to keep my radio faceplate on the windshield.

I hate that these have to be purchased separately from the radio but at least the price on here is half that of MSRP!

In reality, iCom products are good for the money, and I love my old 706. But unlike Yaesu, iCom would charge you by the inch for their microphone cords if they could. This plate is, well, just a cheap stamped plate that comes with two magnets, four screws, and no instructions as to how to use it. It is supposed to be coupled with a stand, sold separately, that is meant to sit on your dash.iCom should really contemplate completing the radio with things such as radio chassis mounts and screws. Instead, you spend $500 on a radio, then another $200 for the accessories that are required to mount the radio. So, for $700 you get a radio that is no more useful than a $400 Yaesu, which comes complete with chassis mount, and separation cables for the head unit. Did I mention the cables that are needed with the iCom? Yeah, that's part of the $700 total they end up with because they don't tell you that the simple things like chassis mounts don't come with the radio.iCom has lost a ton of business from municipalities because of the uncontrolled upcharges, and Motorola is about to suffer the same for the same reasons. Except Motorola has caught on that it will be to their benefit to throw in the $5 mounts (cost) instead of charging $50 for them.Back to this unit that I had to purchase to accomplish mounting the radio in my truck. One of the two magnets was broken in half and not salvageable, making the magnets for mounting and quick detach useless. I screwed the plate onto the back of the head unit and moved on...
