Follow up: 9/29/24: I added a photo of my fix for the problem but bear mine. The doors will continue to work for a very long time. I would say it was probably a year of heavy use before the pins slid out and the door fell out, but you can put it back together and glue a little piece of plastic on as in the photo it’ll never slide out again. these are good doors but have a flaw they do not work well on Insulated 1-3/4” exterior doors. The article says that will do up to 1- 3/4” door. My insulated exterior door is right at an inch and three-quarter thick.. You can get it on there. The problem is the part of the frame that should cover doesn’t cover the little stay that holds the hinge bar in place. See photos: so after a few months the pins slide out and the panel falls out: reference photos. the two pieces of the door frame that slide together hold hinge bar pin in place and three-quarter they don’t come together close enough to actually hold that pin in and the pin works its way out. The door falls down. They do seal up well, the wind doesn’t blow them open. It keeps out flies mosquitoes but the dogs and the cats come through it and the goats even figured it out. It’s a great dog pet door, except for the fact that you have to keep putting the panel back in to do that you have to take one side of the frame out, slide the hinge pin back through there slide it back through the door. It’s a little bit tedious to do get it put all back together and it’ll stay together probably another six months or so Until it works loose again. It’s still the best pet door I’ve bought are used so I would still keep buying them and did I have 2 - 85 pound dogs, Labradoodle and golden retriever that use the door a lot so mine probably works loose more quickly than someone else’s. There needs to be fix for that issue, other than gluing a piece of plastic to the side door, which I’m about to do. Maybe Company can come up with a fix Or if you want to contact me doggy door company I’ll be glad to send you a little diagram of a very simple fix. That will allow it to work properly on a full one and three-quarter door without pins sliding out. I won’t charge you for the diagram. You still have a good doggy pet door.Original review. This is so much better than the other one I had one with the floppy plastic door. This one is a multi double panel insulated door. it stays connected. Highwinds don’t seem to blow it open. I haven’t had anything above 40 mile an hour, but still the other one would open up and let all the air blow in, the cats don’t like it as much as the dogs, it’s a little heavier than the plastic one was but they still push it open to come in. Seems very durable like it will last a long time. Happy with it.

Replaced my old smaller door with this larger, stronger door and highly recommend. Very well designed opening and the hinged multi-flap is great. Might take the pups some getting used to with the heavier door instead of a vinyl flap.No instructions in the box but there is a step by step on the box itself and may very well be something online. Although very simple to install, anyone who is not handy might struggle. Also, the screws included were a little short for my door width and anyone without extra screws in the garage might find this annoying.Overall, this is a great door and well worth the price compared to a triple flap vinyl door and much better quality than plastic screws and washers that come with those.

Worked great at first then after awhile when my basset hound would hit it to go out it would come off the rod. It is held in place by two plastic pieces and they would just get shoved out of the holes easy and to put them back on you have to take the door completely apart. After the 3rd time I superglued them in place. Hopefully that will hold and not come apart again. For smaller dogs it probably wouldn't come apart but if you have a large powerful dog it might. It will not be good if the door falls off in the winter especially at night. This happened after about 6 months of use. It is great for the weather. It seals pretty good. Much better than my old one flap dog door. I'm just hoping it hold up through the winter.Update: Since I superglued the rod in place I have had no further issues with this door. It is still going strong. I love this door. Nice and strong and mostly weatherproof. Has lasted a long time with a lot of use by 5 dogs. They just need to fix the rod issue so people don’t have the same problem I had.

This door was already installed in the house I bought years ago. Over time of my dogs running full sprint slamming their face into the flap daily, like intelligent dogs would, (one is 50lbs and other is 30lbs dog) the flap would obviously wear over time.I’ve replaced the flap itself about once a year 1/2 as the rubber seals would tear slowly. Now after 4 years the frame of the door itself has cracked and deteriorated that it needed to be replaced.I live in the dry desert and it keeps the heat and flies out, it works as should, and it may not be invincible, but it lasts a long period of time. Hope my pic helps showing what about 4 years of age and wear looks like compared to brand new. Will continue to buy and replace as needed.PS: the door shield to lock dogs in or out can be busted in if your dogs are intelligent enough to run at the door at ramming speed, see pic and you’ll notice one of the tabs is busted off. So just be aware of that if you have larger smarter dogs than I.

This was really easy to install, I think the hardest part was cutting the hole in my metal door. Once I convinced my dog that there was a hole there instead of a wall, she uses it all the time to come and go as she pleases. It's "lockable" from the inside, IE there is a solid piece of plastic you slide into grooves to prevent the flap from opening, so you can keep out unwanted critters/otherwise during the night, or to keep your pupper outside if needed. And the heavy weight of the flap keeps the cold air out, and the hot air in (or vice versa) but not too heavy that my dog can't push it out. I have a med/large dog so I'm not sure how this would work for smaller breeds. Bulldog probably fine, otherwise idk.
