This was the solution to my car problem! Super easy to install works absolutely great! I would recommend to do some research before hand to see if you need a key that has a transponder chip. All I did was take the cylinder to a locksmith and they copied the key that it came with and then they copied my old transponder chip to a new key and it works awesome. Depending on your car, if you install it and turn the car on it will shut off like mine. So that what you have to do. Very good built. Payed half the price here then autoshops!

Quick easy fix on my 03 Doge Ram. 234,000 miles before it needed this. The ignition would not turn at all. I waited too long to replace. The original had to be drilled out until the cylinder would spin to the 'ON' position. Once it was in ON position, push in the small tab under the cylinder and it pulls striaght out. Follow the instructions and you will be finished in less than 15 minutes if you dont have to drill out! I suggest you change if it starts to get stuck and not wait until its permanantly stuck like mine. Lots of videos on line!

I was having to replace the lock because it completely seized. The locksmiths were quoting $200 or more just to come out, which was way more than the price I was willing to pay for a simple fix. The lock was built very well, and it turns over and functions perfectly now.

The replacement works for the ignition with the new key provided. However do not throw out the old key because it will be needed to open and close the doors. I also kept the old cylinder. At some point i will need to take out the new cylinder and have it keyed alike the doors.

Perfect replacement! Super easy to install and took less than 15 minutes to do! This was for my 2004 dodge ram 1500 4.7l. However as we all know you will now have set keys for your ignition and the old keys for the doors.

The little plunger at the end of the cylinder, that is supposed to push in-and-out on the chime switch...doesn't move at all. So, the chime stays on, and it won't let me lock the doors with the fob.

Works and was easy to install. The new keys are NOT chipped and are cut a bit sloppy. Took some effort to get in/out until the edges broke in. You’ll need to have a chipped key made if you have a security system.
