As a open face auto racing helmet, ILM-R85 has a fiberglass composite shell and meets SNELL SA2020 safety standards to provide complete protection during the race. Compatibling with HANS/HNR M6 Threaded Inserts, the helmet is onvenient for you to install Head&Neck Support devices.

High strength fiberglass shell means the helmet is firm, durable and light weight, providing better impact absorption. Meets Snell SA2020 safety standards, the auto racing helmet can provide solid protection while riding.
IMPORTANT: This helmet is an automobile racing helmet, not US DOT approved to use on public streets, roads, or highways.
Fire Retardant Inner Pads
Removable, washable, flame-retardant lining not only provides wearing comfort and wrapping, but also wicks away moisture and protects against fire.
The top air vent combined with the two back air vents greatly improves air circulation inside the helmet, allowing you to dissipate excess heat as quickly as possible during a race.

This helmet is nicely made. The inside is well padded and formed. The outer shell looks nice and arrived in good shape. The helmet fits as sized. The strap and buckles are easy to work.

This helmet is comfortable and looks awesome. It has room for my Bluetooth headset and still plenty of room for my large head.

It is made of lightweight fiberglass material, so you won't feel any weight when wearing it, and you won't feel any pressure on your head even after long periods of use. It is very comfortable. The unisex design and ventilation of the helmet also keep the air flowing well around the head, especially in hot weather. In terms of safety, the quality of this helmet is quite good. I was skeptical about purchasing an item that didn’t have very many reviews. I should have trusted my gut on this one. The helmet is extremely uncomfortable. The padding is insufficient and offers zero cushion from the hard inner lining. After trying it on several times to ensure I wasn’t overreacting, I came to the conclusion this would not be something I could wear for the duration of a race day.The helmet cosmetically looks great and is lightweight as advertised. Sadly, it’s simply not functional to wear for any length of time.

Finally tried an ILM helmet. I am fussy about a good fitting helmet. Not just size, but shape. So many helmets are based on heads the shape of a bowling ball. That just leaves a pressure point on the forehead. This one is better. One of the best fitting helmets I have had in a long time. Nice that it is loaded with quality features as well. If you have what is considered an oval head, give this a try.Sizing runs pretty true as well.

This is a well built helmet but I am having fit issues as it fits my head well but squeezes my cheeks. I am wearing this hoping it will loosen up as it fits well but the lower portion really is tight around my cheeks. I am doing 30-40 minutes at a time to see if it will loosen up. Helmet does run true to size as it does fit my head. Strap is nicely built and the shell is well made. Has good padding in the helmet and it has room in the ear location for speakers. This does make the helmet a little noisier than most. Not the quietest helmet I have wore but I do believe it was designed for speakers. I will update if the helmet get more comfortable.

First impressions: light, well made, and easily adjustable for proper fitment. My intended use is on my motorcycles. I have a 2016 street glide with a 9 inch windshield on my fairing. Even with direct wind contact there is no buffeting with this helmet. I did remove included brim from the helmet. The wind noise is muffled but not overwhelming. I am on the line between a large and xl according to the size chart so I ordered an xl and the helmet fits perfectly. However with the way the pads mount in the helmet I could replace the pads with thicker or thinner to get a perfect fit.The way the pads are mounted cleaning them will also be easy. Overall I am really impressed with this helmet and will use it daily. This is a great option if you are looking for a SA2020 rated helmet.
