I used these on our pool vacuum and was able to get rid of the sand/silt that collects on the bottom during the two winter months of inactivity here in the deep south. My husband also used one of them as a filter on our geothermal unit to help flush out residuals. Great product - well made of good materialsðŸ‘

Are you tired of spending $$$ on pool filters?! Well these socks will help you SAVE $$$!!! I have an above ground Summer Waves metal frame (15ft diameter / 4ft tall) pool that we purchased in May/2020. My filter pump uses the A/C filters. Back In April/2021 I began to prepare for setting the pool back up, but was dreading finding filters; because of COVID in 2020, filters became a hot commodity (and still were in short supply). So I started researching for reusable filters. After a few hours looking around online and reading a lot of reviews, I finally settled on the "Impresa Products 20-Pack of Pool Skimmer Socks" AND the "Orca Reusable Pool Filter".Here's the thing, the Ocra Pool filter on it's own will not work well in replacing those paper filters from your chain big box store; because the grit and grime will go through the mesh screen on the filter. It does not get the small algae like particles. BUT if you buy the pool socks as well, and put them over the filter then BAM!!! You now have a product that will do the job of those throwaway filters and SAVE you money!!! The socks get all the nasty grime and algae that would otherwise sit in the pool. These socks are the key to a reusable pool filter. The pool socks are washable/reusable. I set the pool up on 5/25/2021 (as I write it is 6/25/2021). I have used 3 pool socks since, I change the sock daily, sometimes twice depending on how much my kids and the neighborhood kids have been in it for the day. And this works amazing!! The Ocra filter is a hard plastic with a rubber like mesh screen, so it's going to hold up forever. The socks I rinse out with hot water and air dry. They're not white anymore, but if they soak in some bleach water that'll take care of it. The socks are starting to get a little worn, but the great thing about them is I got a pack of 20 socks for $13!! That is a major difference over the 3 pack filters for $12!! At the rate I'm going, it may be 5 years before I need more socks. Since the pool is only open during the summer. I hardly write reviews for products I buy, but this was one I felt I needed to share, because it was the reviews that helped me put this together.

A neighbor recommended a sock for my skimmer basket and I'm hooked. Why didn't the pool folks tell me about these? They are about $5 for 2 at the pool store so I decided to order in bulk. I picked 2 brands (they all looked alike online) and these were the higher quality of the two I chose as I expected since they were a little more expensive. They fit very tightly on the basket and the mesh is very fine and catches all the small stuff. I think they would hold up to being rinsed and reused several times. They are easier to clean if you let them dry out first. I prefer to just thrown them out so I will probably buy the cheap ones again. I looked at some of the other reviews----I use a weight in my basket to hold the sock down. It's one of those Frog sanitizer things. As for scum and body oil, I put a scum ball in the top of the basket. These socks catch all the small stuff that used to get stuck in the holes in my basket and they keep my pump filter basket much cleaner.

The product is ok. It catches cottonwood seeds, etc. do not put chlorine tablets in this filter. They eat right through the material and melt it, leaving semi melted material in you basket.

TL;DR version at the end.We bought our current home a few years ago. It came with an above ground Doughboy 18x34 oval pool. I knew nothing about pools but we loved the house. I discovered these socks after extensive research on pool care. I have to say, they are one of the most important tools I have. Right up there with shock. The first year I had the pool, we were constantly cleaning out the filter cartridge. I mean at least once a week. The pressure in the filter would get close to 20 and we'd know it was time to clean it out. Between draining the filter chamber to get the filter out, to hosing it down, to putting it back in and waiting for the chamber to fill back up, I was killing at least a half an hour a week just on filter care. That didn't include the time to brush the pool, skim it, test the water, balance it, shock it, etc. I tried filter cleaning chemicals and special tools to clean the filters. Still once a week. Pool care was taking me anywhere from 1-2 hours total every week. I'm not sure that is normal, but I wanted to find a way to reduce it. I should mention, that the previous owner was facing financial trouble so she couldn't afford the chemicals to maintain the pool. So she let it go. It was pretty bad when we got it. Dark green with at least an inch of rotting leaves at the bottom. Draining it wasn't an option because the liner would have shrunken and we wouldn't go back to normal. The guy who opened the pool gave me some tips on how to get it from green to clean. I also went to Leslie's pool supply and they helped me with getting it balanced. It took about a week to get all the leaves out. We had to take extreme measures. We hooked up the vacuum and opened up the filter chamber so all the sludge would be pumped out into the yard. Then we started balancing the water. Once all was done, I went from dark green to crystal clear. About a month or so later, I added in the socks, and it did collect a great deal. I was impressed. We we went from cleaning the filter once a week, to about two weeks. It occurred to me later that the filter that was in there was probably pretty messed up from cleaning out that messy water before we got the socks. Even without the leaves, there was still a lot of organic material it had to filter out. It probably created a lot more wear and tear on the fibers of the cartridge then normal use. So I replaced the cartridge. The pressure was significantly better, and we only needed to clean the filter every four weeks. The next year, we reused the filter, and almost got a full season out of it with these socks. The pool guy said the cartridge should last at least half the season if not the full season depending on use. It got light use that year, so we got almost a full season out of a filter that was used the prior year. This year, we got a new liner. At some point, the water became cloudy. I balanced the water and made sure the PH and alkalinity were perfect. When that didn't work, I shocked it. Still a no go. I tried a water clarifier too, and it didn't change anything. Then I remembered I forgot to put in the pool sock. 24 hours after putting in the pool sock, the water was crystal clear again. The package says to replace these every 3-4 weeks. I did that last year and it seems to work just fine. This year though, I figured I would try replacing them every week to see if it works better. Cleaning the sock out only takes a couple of minutes, but I figure over time the fibers break down, allowing more organic material to pass through. Since the 20 pack was cheap, I figured I would see if replacing them once a week would make a difference. The pool has been open since April and I've washed the filter twice. Once when we started up the pool (this cartridge was from last year), and once after that. So I am getting about 8 weeks between cleanings from a filter that I put in about a month before we closed the pool last year. That's 3.5 hours of work saved that I don't have to spend on pool care. We usually wait until it gets to 17 psi before we clean it. We probably could get another week or two between cleanings if we let it get to 20, but I didn't want to put to much strain on the pump.TL;DR: Sock filters out a lot of organic material reducing the amount of work the filter has to do. This has reduced the frequency of cleaning the filter from once a week to every four weeks when replacing the sock every 3-4 weeks. If I replace the sock every week, I can go for 8 weeks between cleanings. This saves me a significant amount of time in pool care, and I use less chemicals. BUY THESE THINGS! I know some people use pantyhose, but I think these are more the consistency of tights. They are thicker. I am not sure if tights would be a good substitute, but I don't care to find out. You would have to cut the tights to fit the skimmer, and who knows how easily they would hang on in the basket. These are cheap enough to just buy and not have to deal with the trouble.

This is a good pile of pool "socks" that I'll use on the filter of my ShopVac to see if they allow the same suction while protecting the filter making emptying the ShopVac easier. This box of socks arrived very promptly after ordering in perfect condition in a commercial box.

Súper, creo que se encoge un poco. Pero cumple su función muy bien, no olviden que después de apagar la bomba quiten el calcetÃn porque se le vanta y puede dejar ir todo lo que atrapó
