An integrated velocity stack allows the pressurized air to be at a more stable state, which equates to a consistent transition of air into the MR calibrated tube. Through a step down process, MR Technology will regulate the airflow at certain strategic points, ultimately controlling the rate and density. By doing so, the MR Technology process tunes the intake system to avoid the necessity of calibrating MAF sensors. Overall, the MR Technology process was developed in order to compensate for the vast change in technology and the need for a safe, reliable performance product.

I bought this CAI for my '10 Camaro and got rid of the heavy stock ram air intake. Instantly the engine "woke up" and began to breathe. After using this long tube intake for a few years I can say that it has worked flawlessly since install. There are a few drawbacks to this design however that one needs to consider before buying this model. In order to install it you need to remove the left front tire, remove the wheel well splash guard, drain the water reservoir to the windshield wiper sprayers and remove the water pump. Remove the stock water reservoir, and disconnect the Mass Air Flow Sensor. Once those are done you'll need to install the new InJen water reservoir, reconnect the water pump, then assemble the Injen CAI (there's only 3 parts) install it, reconnect the MAFS, reinstall the wheel well splash guard, reattach the tire, and you're done. It takes about 1 hour or less. *Note* Despite what the instructions say, you do NOT need to disconnect the battery. The pros: this system is %200 better than the stock intake. The reusable/washable air filter stays a heck of a lot cleaner than the original stock. I've had mine on for nearly 20,000 miles and it's still nearly as clean as it was brand new. The filter is tough and can weather water and dirt very well (If one lives in an exceptionally wet area, Injen offers a water resistant cover for the air filter), and it can go as much as 50,000 miles before needing to be cleaned. The filter itself is cleaned very easily with the cleaning and refreshing kit (sold separately) and just a little bit of running water. After drying for 10-12 hours, just reinstall it and it's good to go.The cons: The manufacturer recommends inspecting the air filter every 10K-25K for debris. Because the long tube sits so low and filter is tucked in between the wheel well and the front bumper guard and sits underneath the headlight assembly, one can't see the filter from a top-down view. You'll need to get underneath the car with a light and inspect it. Secondly, when the filter needs to be cleaned, you can't remove it by pulling out the whole assembly from the top, it won't fit. Even if you remove the new water reservoir, the filter is too wide to be pulled out from the top. You'll need to remove the tire and splash guard, then go from there.I gave this long-tube CAI only 3 stars because of the inconvenience of inspection and cleaning.Update for California: I've owned this CAI for nearly 6 years now and (I can't believe that) it's still is NOT California Carb legal!!! If your car needs to be smoged in Ca. & you have this CAI, you'll have to remove it in order to take/pass the test.
