I am new to the Sous Vide world so this unit came in at a great price for me. It was packaged well and arrived quickly. The unit was easy to set up and link to my phone. Instructions are easy to understand and only took a few minutes. The unit seems sturdy and the screen is easy to read. I do like the ability to monitor what’s going on from my phone if away from the kitchen. The small size of it doesn’t take up much space in the container. The first thing I noticed was how quiet it is when running. The settings are easy to manage on both the app or the unit itself. On the app there are a lot of presets for different meats etc. I tried some cubed beef as a test and it came out wonderful, done to the exact temperature that I wanted. I have a number of other Inkbird products and have had no issues with any of them.

I purchased this in Feb 2023.I wanted a reasonable amount of time before submitting a review, not only detailing what I thought about its performance and my first impressions - but also my assessment of it's durability and reliability over the course of 12+ months. This is a really nice immersion cooker. For the price, it holds its weight very well against the big brand models thats 2-3x the cost.I've used this model about 25-30 times in the last 14 months. I've cooked beef steaks, roasts, tenderloins, fishand brisket. All cooked wonderfully with accurate water temp. I tested numerously at different stages of cooking with my instant thermometer. Reflected temp is dead on.On a few recipes, there is a small trial and error on temp and cooking time to nail your own personal taste and texture preference. I record my perfect temp and times and every cook after that comes out perfect. With steaks, chops, roasts and tenderloins, I will always sous vide as my first option. Juiciest and tender from all other methods I've used. The only con (which is relative) is the amount of time needed to cook. Sous vide method is not the fastest but quite set and forget cooking that requires very little monitoring and affords a wide margin of error.I use cast iron or my food torch to brown food after sous vide is done. Comes out great. The inkbird app for this model works awesome. I've never had it fail. You can open the app and monitor cooking time, verify current temp, modify temp, modify cooking time, get alerts for low liquid level, among other things. Once connected to your home network, you can control it remotely from your phone, anywhere that your phone has internet. If there's one point of criticism, it's that I've seen other models circulate the water with more turbulence. I'm guessing those models have either larger impeller or faster rpm on the impeller. That being said, I'm not convinced it's relevant here as I've never had the heater not maintain temp despite the size and volume of food I've cooked in the container. I'd have to to test it in a really big volume container, I guess - but I don't have a need to get one bigger than the one I have (12 quart).Maybe one other area may be the spring clip that secures the heater to the container. It's holding up great so far after a year's use, but I'm not sure if this mechanism is better than a screw and knob style retention system. I'll revisit, maybe, after another year of use. So far, so good though. This is my first sous vide cooker - and I never thought I'd love it this much. Sous vide is a method every casual to seasoned cook should try regardless of brand of cooker you use. The method is just that good and forgiving. Results are awesome. If you want a good bang for the buck, this inkbird should be worth an audition.I've never looked back.

Replaced a 6 year old Anova that broke and lost app support for this Inkbird brand. Super easy to setup straight out of the box, simple app, and confirmed temperature accuracy with alternate probes. It was spot on even without using the offset feature. The only complaints are:1. The side clip doesn't fit easily around the lip on my pots but I was able to reuse the Anova clamp.2. The sounds it makes are a bit annoying if the house is otherwise silent. The circulator has a higher pitched whine and fluctuates speed up and down slightly. When it reaches target temp you can hear a relay click on and off constantly, assuming heater circuit closed loop control keeping it at temp.Otherwise a solid value that appears well built and will be able to produce amazing slow cooked foods.

I have done sous vide in the past and I find myself wanting to get back to this style of cooking for health reasons. I was amazed how fast it heats up from cold tap water. And now with my small container it will make perfect sense to keep this at work so I can have a restaurant quality meal available with minimal prep. Inkbird consistently makes quality products and this one is as well. Oh yeah, it is water proof too.

At the time of this review I have made chicken, turkey for Thanksgiving, and Steaks. It gets up to temp fairly quickly if you start with hot water. The app is very convenient because you can moniter the temperature and it let's you know if your water level gets low. You can also prep everything and set it to start at a specific time if you're not at home. Be sure to cover your water container if you don't have one with a lid so you retain water for longer.

I would give this 10 stars if I could. These work great a d its our second one! Cooks the meat perfectly to temp every single time. We also use it for seafood and it's perfect. Definitely worth the money.

My original sous vide had a great app associated with it with it that gave you specific temps and cook times for the type of meat your were cooking. It also had recipes but I gave it to my son when he moved out. I researched a bunch of sous vides and decided upon this one. I’ve used it multiple times and it’s been great. It heats up pretty quickly and holds the temperature and all of my meats have come out perfect. I actually bought a second one as a gift.

It works perfectly, is easy to use, and saves time since you don't have to constantly monitor the food. It makes the best steak ever. Definitely recommended! The vacuum pump stopped working after 2 days so had to return the unit but ordered the one with better vacuum pump. Will update if needed.

Although a little bulky, my first try was conclusive; the best chicken breasts (cooked from frozen) I've had in a long time!! Hardly any lag between the instrument and the app, which is very convivial and customizable. Very easy setup. Used with a FoodSaver sealer.

Ok so im on day 1 and so far my opinion is the device seems good, with HORRIBLE documentation. So hopefully this will help some with wifi. In the book and app it doesn't really state the wifi modes available. To switch wifi modes, hold down the wifi button directly on the device for about 5 seconds. When you first touch the button it will beep, dont take your finger off until you see the wifi symbol change, not at the beep, and it wont beep changing modes.this feature is mislabeled as wifi reset in the manual, when it actually changes modes, and reset if it is already connected. Fast flashing is it trying to connect to your routers 2.4g wifi (if you have 2 signals, it will be the slower but more long range connection).Slow flashing is ap mode or access point mode, nice feature i didn't know it had when bought, if it is unable to connect normally or your out and about, this is what you want. This will allow you to connect directly to the device as a wifi signal. Not the best option, but if you dont have access to wifi for some reason this feature should work.Hopefully this helps someone, haven't really used it yet other then to dethaw some frozen chili, which it did well. If this review doesn't change its probably running fine and i forgot i forgot i reviewed it. I will say that after it connected to wifi it seemed to run well, not sure why the hate on the app store to get a 1.5 star review, but hopefully i dont find out.
