The InSinkErator Extension for Involve Hot Water Dispensers allows the hot water dispenser to be installed in solid-surface countertops with a maximum thickness of 3 in. The extension includes a plastic stem and mounting nut that can be simply threaded on and off to adjust to varying countertop thickness. The plastic stem and mounting nut come pre-installed on the instant hot water dispenser for quick and easy installation.

Used to adapt existing older incinerator to width of new granite countertop. Found product to work ok, but made cheaply out of plastic instead of metal. Due to reviews of product on line was aware of looseness of product fit that it may strip. Turns out product worked fine, but wrapped threads with plumbers tape to reinforce a tighter connection.

It does fit and do the job, but it is plastic, not the metal that is shown, and should cost no more than a couple dollars. But, if you need it, you need it.

Adapter now included with new insinkerator faucets - I ordered because of another reviewer but ended up sending it back. Also, adapter is plastic not copper as depicted.

The item shown on amazon didn't resemble the item i received.There was no copper or brass as depicted in photo.The item i received was completely plastic. I have actually purchased this same item for another install that was the actual brass and copper item and to tell the truth the plastic item worked a lot better.

Insinkerstor went cheap on the length of the threads for the hot water dispenser. If you replace 3/4†laminate countertops with 1†thick or more granite you won’t be able to mount your dispenser because the threads don’t extent through the countertop. So you buy ridiculous priced adapter which is over $20 and should be $2 or even free because it’s needed as a result of Insinkerstors bad design. Now you put the thread extender on your dispenser and it won’t fit through a standard 1-1/8†hole already drilled in the granite. You then have to either enlarge the hole (not easy to do unless you have a diamond hole saw) or grind down the outside threads enough to fit in the hole while still leaving enough threads to attach the nut from underneath. Would have given it 0-stars if I could. However if you want to install your dispenser in granite you have to buy this, no choice and they know it (hence the ridiculous price).
