I purchased this micrometer based on price and the NIST traceable standard. The overall quality is acceptable, the thimble operates smoothly, the ratchet works well, the stop is functional. The materials are correct, the machine work is properly done, the case is nice.The micrometer comes with a calibration certificate. However mine was not calibrated. It was off by 0.005". I compared using the provided standard and a brand new mitutoyo standard of the same length. I also checked both standards in the mitutoyo micrometer. The standard included is dead on. The micrometer itself was just not calibrated. For it to be so far off and come with a serialized certificate is misleading.For the price I would absolutely buy again and recommend to others. Provided the buyer be aware that the micrometer should be calibrated prior to use.

Nice micrometer with traceability certificate. Smooth functioning. Has the vernier scale also for .0001. Nice case with wrench and standard.Not Starrett or Mitutoyo, but better than your average budget measuring tools. I think it is China made, not sure.Good value at this price.
