I installed an aftermarket stereo in my 1998 Ford Ranger XLT, 3.0 V6 w/ Auto Transmission. The radio had a deafening “whine†noise to it, and made the overall driving experience somewhat unpleasant. So after much research I concluded that I needed this device to silence the whine. Installation was rather easy. Make sure to follow the supplied directions, and if in doubt, always consult YouTube for guidance. Once installed the annoying whine instantly disappeared. Now, driving the truck is a lot more pleasurable and I can listen to my tunes in peace.

I was skeptical about using this filter due to the mixed reviews, but this filter worked like a charm. There is absolutely zero whining noise coming out of the speakers, works perfectly, very happy!

This filter worked to remove almost all of the alternator noise from the installation of a new stereo in my 2007 Hyundai Azera. As other reviewers suggested, I put the filter in line with the yellow wire (constant 12v).As another reviewer noted, there is not enough electrical insulation inside the unit. The wires wrapped around the ferrite core are bare and carry +12 volts. Since the casing of the filter is metal and the circuit board is loose inside, the windings could easily touch the side of the casing and short out the radio power circuit in the car. Before installation, I gently pried off the bottom of the casing and wrapped the circuit board with electrical tape to prevent contact with the casing.

So liked the heavy gauge wires and the metal casing, however the circuit board in the thing is not secured in it so it rattles around, and long story short the thing has no ground probably cause said ground came loose

Worked fantastic at removing that annoying "weeEEEEee" coming from the alternator. Still hear lots of hissing coming from the amp this time, so got a second one.

I installed this on my car audio amplifier. It solved the issue of alternator whine 100%. The only reason why I didn't give it 5 stars is because I felt the wires of the unit are a bit small. They appear to be about a 10 gauge. If they were 8 gauge I would have given 5 stars.

Very effective solution and easy to connect to get rid of engine/alternator interference (whine noise). Try this at battery source (under hood) for power amplifier located in trunk before using isolation transformers (if noise persists) on amplifier RCA connectors.
