I bought this timer to control the lights at the entrance to my neighborhood. It wasn't very hard learning how to program it. I like the way it programs in daylight savings time and end, very nice that you can let this timer go all year round without resetting. It also adjusts to the longer days or shorter days in each season. This timer is controlling a lot of LED spot lights, not being an electrician I'm not sure how many it could control. And, the battery back up saving the program, and not causing you to have to re-program after a power outage is a great work saver. Very happy so far with this timer.

Using for landscape lights. It plugs directly into my transformer. I set it to turn on at dusk and off a couple hours before dawn. It calculates dusk and dawn based on location and it's been adequately accurate.

I bought two of these, one for each of the front and back yards, and I programmed them the same. The one in the front works great. The one in the back loses about 10 minutes per week, which means that after a month, the timing of the lights is way off.I've returned the one that doesn't keep time and ordered a replacement. Fingers crossed on that one.Programming is easy, and the timer fits in the control box like a glove.

This is the second such timer I have owned over the years. I love the fact that the timer changes the on/off times (dusk and dawn) as the seasons change. When it’s summer, and the sun is up at 5:00 am in Phoenix, the timer turns the lights off. When it’s winter, and the sun doesn’t come up until 7:40 am, the timer recognizes that time as dawn and turns off the system. It’s simple to program, much simpler than the last model I owned. And it’s dependable.Five stars!

The original timers on our irrigation system had to be adjusted every 3-4 months to allow for the change in seasons. In addition, while we were traveling, a power outage at our home resulted in totally dark nights and illuminated days.I purchased two of these astronomic timers to replace the originals, should have done it sooner. They work as described. Easy to set up, adjust to seasons and time changes, each one has a backup battery in case of a power outage, plus they are very easy to install.One final note. I had to do some repairs on one light where the connection had come loose. These timers have an On/Off switch for daylight events such as these.Recommend 100%.

This timer with its astronomical clock is exactly what I was looking for. Many similar timers are frustrating to program; this one is so intuitive, you really don’t need the included instructions. The item is more expensive than others, but the time saved, and the quality brand, makes the price worth it. Its compact size fits neatly inside my landscape lights transformer box, but you could use this just about anywhere.
