The Intermatic Weather Proof Receptacle Cover complies with the National Electric Code (NEC) Article 406.8(b). All covers meet UL and CSA cold impact testing at -60F. The plastic covers are molded of clear UV stabilized polycarbonate for long life in high abuse outdoor installations. They can be mounted on single or two-gang junction boxes mounted either vertically or horizontally. They are shipped with gasket, mounting screws, base and cover assembly and two inserts.

This kit contains almost everything you will need to install a weather resistant outlet box on the outside of your house. Just supplu your own screws. It contains 2 inner rings that will fit either a standard rounded duplex , or rectangular duplex outlets, Large enough to house a Zigbee switch for outlet power control.

Could not find the right outlet cover at local big box stores. Found this on Amazon. Yes it is more expensive than the smaller ones at local stores, but these are super nice and were a PERFECT replacement to the old ones. Had absolutely no hiccup at all on installation. That was so nice… those of you who remodel homes…. Having no hiccups is SO NICE!… and rare lol. Just buy these.

I like the easy open lid where you only need to press in a latch on the cover. The inserts allow for vertical or horizontal mounting and there are 4 corner holes for mounting to a square box. When it is mounted to a flush plug, the extra four corner holes can be used for additional screws to secure the cover and take pressure off of the smaller outlet screws. It was a bit tight to close the cover if you use a DC adapter and extension cord at the same time.

Edit:Got through snow and 2 or 3 days of rain and wind. Seems to work fine. It's underneath gutter eaves on a slanted house siding. I used silicone on the foam to keep the siding sealed.Still waiting on a big storm to be sure it works.The cable is still a tight fit and the plug end has to be bent, so I would still recommend a deeper base.If everything ends up being fine, I won't have to use grommets and rubber gaskets to make sure it seals better.Will update after next big storm.Early review:Had no choice with snow coming, installed anyways, will update if it works well. But due to design problems I have doubts.Almost all standard horizontal plugs don't fit properly, because of depth. Especially not outdoor rated cables. I managed to force the cable in, but it will probably eventually damage the plug. It also causes the lid to be loose because the cable puts pressure on theblid.Lid is another problem. It is loose fitting and has no gasket nor weather strip. I don't know how they expect this to work in heavy rain or wind. I'm also worried what will happen when snow and ice accumulate on it and melts.The in use cable holes in lid have no sealing mechanism. And you can clearly see with all the weatherproof boxes that it is an easily solved problem.The dimensions given are incorrect, and the hinge adds another 3 quarters of an inch. I had to loosen the outlet and just barely force the things into the spacing.I have rain and snow coming, so I didn't have time to wait and installed it anyways, but this product I have doubts it was even tested.Again.There's just so many issues with its design. And if it wasn't for constrained spacing (seems intent on trolling literally everything i do with size constraints that force double priced untested problematic products every time) I would have chosen better designed sealed or lockable solutions for half the price.It is ridiculous that I still have to deal with this type of incredibly insulting trolling that often even comes with what looks like body or thicc related agendas embedded into names and instructions.And to add insult to injury be forced to pay extra for it. (In this case nearly 2x).How much damage do they need to cause with these incessent scams before they are satisfied?I guess it's an improvement over being harassed before purchase, while trying to use, and then even when trying to return, even when lives are at stake or product is so bad that it causes physical injury.To note there are literal lives at stake related to what I am installing this for.

This specific in use, exterior cover must be made of gold at the big box stores. This was nearly half the price, but the same quality as I could purchase locally.

I ended up just drilling into the wood to cover the round gang box. It’ll work but I shouldn’t have to do that. The box doesn’t line up with supplied screw holes to mount.

Initially I thought it would be too big when I saw it but after installation I realized just how perfect it is. You can put your plug in and the cord goes down through so you can keep the cover closed. This particular one is for a single outlet only. I liked it so much that I bought two more for the other plugs on the house.

Seller lists the product as dual gang. The cover may fit a dual gang box but you may only have one plug in it. If you wish to have two which is the reason that you selected a dual gang box then you are out of luck. I returned mine with Amazon's liberal return policy and ordered a true dual gang unit. It didn't use the box and didn't even open it from the clear wrapping but I did give it a five rating for the other features as I assume they would apply.
