My newer laptop was having issues with the DVD/RW. So i bought a new one for it and moved the old one into me older laptop where the DVD drive was not workingat all.

I have built my own computer for years, so I'm not a novice installing hardware. I ordered this drive and installed it. It was recognized by my computer, but the drive would not open, neither by pushing the open button on the drive or via the Windows Explorer. You can hear the drive attempting to open but nothing happens. So I returned it and was sent another. The second one did the very same thing. Installation wasn't a problem. But if you can't open it, it's worthless.
