What a great idea! I've always dreaded hauling out the big ironing board and setting it up to use. This is perfect! Our space was limited so my husband installed it behind the laundry room door. Both sturdy and space-saving! So convenient for items coming right out of the dryer! I could wish for a different fabric cover as some materials cling to it, but that doesn't effect the usefulness.

Our laundry room was so cluttered that it was difficult to operate in the small space. We hung the cleaning utensils on a small rack, kicked out the full-sized ironing board and added this unit for a short wall facing the washer/dryer. Not only did this unit save space in storage but then also cleared the front of the dryer for ideal placement in my particular environment. Fortunately, I had one (1) stud to anchor to one side with the supplied screws, then used the supplied screws/drywall anchors to secure the other side. I threw out the remaining hardware as it was junk. Engaging the unit into it's horizontal position, it seemed sturdy enough for its intended purpose ( I don't plan to store things or sit on it). make sure that the board is mounting at a convenient height by the user(s) and clears the floor also when folded for storage.Perfect solution for small areas. The board itself is lightweight but the mount is secure. The mechanism to "lock in" the board horizontally requires the board to be lifted past horizontal, then lowered with the mechanism released to secure the board. The release lever must be continuously engaged while raising or lowering the board.Only time will tell if this unit holds up to our occasional (weekly) use. Heavy use might be a different story. My final addition will be using an iron mounting plate on the wall above the board for storage of the iron during & after use. Research your specific needs well as Amazon has various optional vendor configurations depending on room/mounting locations required. Other that that, prepare yourself psychologically for a shorter that normal board and what that may imply for your usage.

I just received the wall mounted ironing board today. I used the screws it came with in the studs and my own anchors and screws for the opposite side. The hardware included is worthless and only caused me to put BIG holes in my wall where there wasn't a stud. I was able to locate the hardware i used to hang my Elfa shelving and it worked out great. I ironed a set of king size sheets on it without any problems. It was easy to hang ( once i had the right hardware ). I recommend a drill to predrill the holes, level and cordless screwdriver. Keep in mind when the board is set up it will be about an inch or so higher than you mount the top screws. 39 inches is the average height of a standard ironing board so you might want to go a little lower to get the right height.. but you can put it an any level your comfortable with. BTW, I'm a 55 year old petite female.. and was able to hang the board without an extra set of hands. Hope this helps someone!

Hesitant to get this because of the moderate reviews. Glad I finally bit the bullet & bought it! The frame is sturdy. Comes with moderate grade drywall screws, but the metal screws themselves are pretty good. Used the screws for a stud it lined up with on one side & my own drywall screws for the other side. It doesn’t latch like the typical ironing board where it catches at the height you want. You have to hold the latch as you’re raising the board, raise the board slightly above level height, then release the latch to catch as you lower the board. The latch is strong & secure. To clear the floor when lowering/raising, I have it installed a little over 37†which is a little bit higher than I’m used to, but I’m only 5’ and it’s still a comfortable height. Cover can be removed for cleaning and my iron slides well on it. All and all, great product that was easy to install & leaves more space in my room for activities!

I wanted a small ironing board that would be stable and not take up a ton of space and this was exactly what I was looking for. It screws into the wall so it's very stable and is positioned at a comfortable height for me. It has the standard metal handle on the side underneath to squeeze to raise and lower the board. It came with a lightly padded cover that fits well. I didn't want a clunky full sized ironing board that I'd have to haul out of the closet all the time and this is perfect for my needs.
