Place the slider piece against the door. Mark holes and drill the screws in.

Place the chain lock piece against the door frame and make the markings.

Drill the screws in.

Chose this lock for the look. Was super ready to install and looks great and has a nice design. Super sturdy!

Item was packaged well. Appearance matches our door set. Product is robust which is critical for protection. Very easy to install. Quantity and quality of screws were adequate. Screw heads did not easily deform when installing with power drill; this is a common problem with poor quality steel products today.

The chains are good and sturdy, however, it comes with very small screws which if you are getting these for the added feeling of security, the small screws will not cut it and therefore you have to buy the screws.

Growing up in NYC, I was accustomed to having chain locks on my door for added safety. Now living in the suburbs, I ordered the Jack N' Drill Chain Door Guard to prevent my 3-year-old from leaving the house. I needed to place the latch high enough so she couldn't reach it. While it perfectly fits this need, I'm disappointed with the construction. The chain is rather lightweight, and the sheet metal feels thin. I worry that if a criminal tried to force entry, this chain lock might not hold up against a few strong kicks. Additionally, despite pre-drilling holes in my hardwood door, several of the screws broke off at the head during installation. Overall, I don't dislike this product, but if security is your main concern, I recommend opting for a heavier-duty option.

I am very happy with this purchase, however I did not pay close enough attention and I wished I had got the stainless rather than the nickel version. This is my fault, and the product was as advertised and is very sturdy, well made and easy to install!
