I bought this strictly for fun because of violin shaped box. Had enough Jade Rosin from previous purchase. I bought as instructor said was as good for beginners as well as advanced to professional players.

In the past I bought several Strad violin rosins for Christmas presents. Unlike the Strad rosin that is amber color and has a harder texture, this one is green and softer, probably because it is for cello, too. I was pleasanrly surprised by this Jade L,Opera rosin. It is smooth on my bow and helps produce warm sound. Yet it is virtually dust-free. In that, It is similar to Andreas a Piacere.

Really love this. I have sensory processing issues and playing high notes is hard on me. This rosin really helps smooth them out. Love it

If you do not open/close the case perfectly, the internal edges of the case crack the rosin. The rosin itself is great, although it has half chipped away after 2 months of use due to the case. Will not order again.
