Many construction fasteners come with a “knurl“, or multiple small protrusions at the top of the threads. This helps ensure that once the end of the threads are reached, the remaining smooth surface of the fastener slides easily, allowing for higher compression forces thanks to its now greatly reduced friction.

Built a playground for my kids and these screws are awesome. I ordered the #15x4â€. Perfect for securing my joists to the deck frame. I included a picture of the width because a few people had that question. Also the screw I’m comparing it to is a #10x3†deck screw for reference. These screws easily self tap and secure tightly. Impact drill recommend. I ordered a second box of 100 to go back and replace the deck screws I had used for the bracing...what a difference! After installing these screws my kids play deck is rock solid! Thanks for making a wonderful American made product. For future projects I’ll definitely buy these again.

Great quality, easy to use and so far, superior both in draw-down and shear strength. Used other brands and these are as good or better. Price break good too. Coating blends well with treated lumber and to date, no rusting of the screw. Easy to drive and although no pilot hole needed, we do drill top wood piece to minimize wood spliting after drying. Domed top gives max contact with little area to snag other things such as hands or clothing (used on deck railing too). Product proven and we use various sizes purchased from same vendor. Pic is use ofdifferent szie but same quality as 3". Thanks for helping with our finished projects; all smiles here!

We bought two packs. They come with instructions on how best to fasten two boards together so there is no gap. The screws are heavy duty ideal for creating a deck. The torx screw head takes a larger T-30 bit that was not in my tool box, so had to purchase some. Would be nice if this bit was included in each pack.

These worked well to make a small 4x4 PT wooden planter. The extra length makes me feel like they are more solidly connected. They went in fine with an impact driver without issue.

I used these to hold a landscape timber foundation together. They met that purpose and provided the strength I needed to feel confident they would hold up over time. They were very easy to install. They came on time in great shape. I would definitely buy again over heavier, harder to install fasteners.

Liked the size and quality. They require an impact driver for best results.I used them on raised garden boxes in full 2†material. Could be a bit big for standard 1 1/2†boards. Suggest drilling pilot hole as well.My boxes contained a couple or so “extra†screws which was nice.
