These only last a year or so and do not have a thermostat built in but for the price I guess they are worth it I use on my diesel generators

So here's the thing, you've gotta know a thing or two of you're gonna get this. It works, but you got some work to do.Since there's not much information on this thing, I have some for you.For starters, there's no end on the cord. Plan on getting one. Take those directions and hose clamps and toss them immediately, they are worthless. Outlet is top port, 5/8 ID tubing. It has an internal, non-ajustable thermostat.Doesn't work well without circulation. Took 40 minutes to heat 2 gallons of water to 100°F from 60°F. With circulation, 100°F was achieved in 10 minutes. I used an auxiliary water pump, 5 GPM @ constant 12V.Without pump, was able to maintain temperature within 8°F. With pump, temperature was maintained within 3°F. Did not exceed 100°F in either test.I forgot to take pics of first test, so you'll just have to take my word for it. Same bucket test with two bulkheads through the side, laid heater on the floor.I plan on using this as a probably overcomplicated engine block heater. There are absolutely better ways to do this, I have my reasons. Will update when I have this in the car and have experienced a few cold nights with it.

Works just as good as the original at half the cost!

The pictures and description of this product are way off. This has to be installed at the lowest point of your cooling system so it doesn't produce air in the cooling system. I thought by the size of the ports on the unit that it was to be installed to a heater hose at the heater core but the installation instructions doesn't show that way. This unit isn't going to work for me.

I have several generators that use these and it is amazing how quickly a new one breaks down. If it were just the part, that would be bad, but dealing with the 3 gallons of anti freeze is a real poke in the eye.

The instructions are terrible. If you don't know how to install this, you won't be able to use it. The product itself is good.
