Product Description

Jobe Topaz Float Valve

Topaz trough valves are float operated valves for use in automatic filling of water troughs, tanks, cisterns etc. The valve is configured for above or below water mounting. The float operates a small pilot valve which in turn operates the main diaphragm valve. Topaz trough valves are a good choice where their high flow, compact, robust, non corrosive construction and high level of adaptability are needed.

These worked perfect for our water toughs. Love there are a variety of ways to mount inside the tank.

I love how this valve works. It's perfect for my application because when the water gets to where I've set the float, the valve shuts off immediately. It doesn't slowly shut off over several minutes like a normal plunger type float valve that uses the pressure of the water against the float to hold the valve closed. The normal float valves might be okay for gravity feed, but these Jobe valves are WAY better for installations that use pressure because pumps won't cycle nearly as much when a trough is 95% full (which most of the time when livestock is using it). Unfortunately, the valve that I installed, still has about a 10gph leak when it's "shut off", so my pump will still cycle every few hours -- and an unused trough will overflow in a couple days.

Jobe pretty much makes the best float valve available today. Flows so much more than a Hudson. Great quality and heavy duty!
