I have an old GE RO filter that uses an air gap faucet. When our countertops were replaced with granite the hole was cut but we could not find a decent looking air gap faucet. Plumbing supply places, plumbers - NOBODY had an answer. I put this in the 1/4†drain line and mounted it to the wall well above the bottom of the sink. Means water has to first back up a couple inches in the bottom of the sink, THEN the check valve stops back flow. Not strictly code, but better than what dishwashers use with just a high loop. Then bought an inexpensive, non-air gap faucet from Menards. Works great and there is no gurgle at all. In fact, seems like we have a lot more water this way.

John guest has departed the plumbing area and this quality item as well as the Use location has decreased noise level due to John guest being loud. Leakage was no issue cause little Johnny guest installed easily and departed soon thereafter. May not be invited back, however, despite a good value for money.

I bought this to add a pressure tank to a conventional (not reverse-osmosis) filter. We had a reverse osmosis filter system for years. It worked just fine, but the filters were a bit expensive to replace, so we went to a more simple 2-filter system. The water taste is just as good, but the problem was that the flow rate was very slow. Since we use the filter to drive the icemaker, it was making smaller ice and less often. So, I figured it might work to add the pressure tank from the reverse osmosis system to this system. But, to do that you need a check valve. Otherwise, water will flow backwards though the filters when the pressure drops, which would be very bad. So, I bought this check valve and added it to the filter input, then added the tank on the output with a T (also leftover from the RO system). It works great. I was concerned about how it would work with the 1/4" line, since it is a press fitting, but it worked perfectly. I cut the existing line and slipped it into both side and have had no leaks at all. Now we have great pressure on our filtered water.

Little pricey but works good!

I used it to prevent backflow in my RO system. It has been working well for a month. It seems to have good quality. However, it is much more expensive than other options in the market.

Just installed the one-way check valve on a new conventional (non-RO) water filter system. It works. So five stars from me. This one cost me $20 + including shipping. Is it better than some other valves that are listed for less money? I don't know because I have nothing else to compare it with. Let's just say I am happy it works. A little background about why I needed it. As another reviewer also experienced; I was unhappy with the water flow coming from my new (this time non-RO) water filter system. So I decided to install a RO bladder tank for the water to collect in after coming out of the filter. Just like the other reviewer did, I installed the one-way check valve on the intake water line to the filter and installed a T-valve on the outflow water line going to the tank and to the faucet. It cost me some $75 to do all this, but now I have good water pressure from the filter faucet.

Twice I have had our RO faucuet leak into the cabinet under the sink which left stains on the side of the cabinet. You don't know it is leaking until it is too late. Sometimes it is the drain line from the RO faucet and sometimes its the little drain pan inside the faucet with debris. The RO air gap design is terrible. If you want to save your cabinets from water damage, then I think this is the right solution. No more gurgling noise, no more overflowing RO faucet drain...
