It's hard to find good needles these days. Sharpness is imperative when embroidering and the cheap needles have burrs on the shaft and in the eye - which makes threading almost impossible. This is a very good needle.

Love these. I have other John James needles, and they are high quality, sharp, and feel good in my arthritic hand. Always makes for successful stitching.

I did like the idea of being able to order a whole card of one size needle. However, the eye on these needles is less than half the size of a different brand embroidery needles of the same size I have used. That is a disappointment. I wasn't able to thread the needle because of the small size, so these are useless to me. I will order yet another brand. I bought embroidery needles because they usually have a bigger eye. Not so with these, unfortunately.
