I've had this for a year and a half or so, and it's as good as new. It's not as simple as one-piece units (this one has multiple parts), but since it can hang down from rafters, it has versatile installation options. Also, there are three distinct places to put your hands: far apart, close together, and on the other-direction bars. It's sturdy and comes with large lag bolts that I installed into a bulkhead in my basement. I think I'm going to get another one to install in my tray ceiling in my bedroom.

works great I am 165lbs so don't know if someone >200;bs could swing from it like I do with it just connected to a 2x4 rafter crossmember. But for me it's perfect.

Solid materials and nice flat powder coating. Flat back hardware would have been a nice addition aesthetically. The equipment went together mostly square to each side. I did not have the twisted mounting arm issues that this bar has presented to others. The center screws went in really rough and one stripped out. I had to tap the hole to a 1/4-20 thread and replace the screw with like hardware. I recommend buying extra washers for the project and have a drill, impact driver, and level ready. The lag bolts are 13mm and the drill bit to predrill them was 1/4". I first reinforced the truss pack that I mounted the bar to before I predrilled and mounted the bar. The single truss wanted to twist prior to this. I put one lag bolt in loosely so I could mark the other three holes appropriately with a level across the bottom of the bar. One it was up I tried it out. No bending or twisting of the bar and it stays on the truss. The perpendicular grip posts are well placed for my shoulder width, but the foam grips are sliding around after a single use. This is a perfect and cost effective replacement to my door frame "As Seen On TV" setup from the past.

Great pull-up bar for an unfinished basement. I am 5'7" and the bar width is perfect for me. Comfortable grips, solid (no movement), and easy to install.Installation took 10 minutes. I installed it to a double joist. I pre-drilled one hole and loosely attached it with a single bolt. Then I leveled it and marked the other holes. Took out the bolt, pre-drilled the rest and finished the install. Super easy to do on my own in approximately 10 minutes. Perfectly level.Great product and a great price.

Whilst the package contained all the correct parts, the issue we had was that the 2 hanging components were of different lengths, and this meant one could not be attached to the other parts using the pre-drilled holes. The line where they were meant to cut the part to fit was visible (see photo), so I used a hacksaw and trimmed it off, and then everything worked fine. It seems like a solid unit now it is assembled and hung in place.

Found this easy to assemble and install - might not be quite as easy if you do not have a drill and/or ratchet driver. It's at a great height for walking under, but I find it a bit too high for my use. I installed on joists 8 feet above the floor. I would have liked it about 6 to 8 inches lower. I could have built an adaptor to lower it, but because it is located where someone could walk underneath, I chose to use a stool. Works well like that. Sturdy. Looks good. Does exactly what it is intended to do.Would be nice if it came with a choice of joist supports - the current length and one that is about 8" longer. The lack of that is not a flaw - this works exactly as described. A longer drop bar would just be a nice enhancement to provide choice.

Great pull up bar. Perfect width and very solid. Only problem, one of the lag bolts broke during install. Never seen a lag bolt break like that, bit concerned about the rest of the bolts I used to mount for durability. Hopefully vendor is able to send me some replacement bolts, if not planning to buy some new lags and replace them. The pull up bar itself is awesome and strong!
