Will work if you are in a pinch. Obviously, pushing 18v through your 12v vehicle isn't the best idea. The starter definitely whines with the extra voltage. That might be fine if you aren't doing it every day. Does seem to work with the new batteries. Was able to start my f350 7.3 and backhoe with it.

Barely turned over my 4runner after 4-5 cranks my 5mah battery is completely drained and super hot. But got out of a pickle. Definitely get a proper battery starter and have this as a backup. I always cary a tire inflator with me so thought this would be ideal but I should of watch a project farm video 1st to get a basis on what i should of bought.

These are great jumper cables to have handy if you own a Milwaukee M18 18V tool battery or a M18 tool adapter to different brand of tool battery. I already own a jump starter and air compressor combo that has been reliable over the years with the addition of a new gel battery, but it's always good to be prepared for anything, like two dead batteries at once. I recently bought a Milwaukee M18 battery run tool and a battery charger so these jumper cables were a good investment.
