The first rosin I tried was inexpensive, but produced a lot of scratchy, squeaky noises which are very unpleasant. The second one I tried was expensive. It came in a little round circle attached to a cloth. It took away the scratchy noises, but also a lot of the sound. It made the violin sound bland. I found out about the Kafko brand buying an old case. Some old rosin came with it (the dark kind) and it sounded terrific, so I bought the light kind on Amazon (pretty much all I ever use in my warm weather state). This is the Goldilocks rosin. Not too scratchy, not too dull, this is the best rosin I have used, and the price is very reasonable. I recommend this and will buy it again.

Works very well. A lot better than the rosin that came with my student violin. Look exactly like the picture. It produces a smoother, less scratchy tone. Who knew that rosin made such a big difference? I love the wooden brace. I am less likely to drop it and have more control over rosin-ing my bow.

This is a great rosin for such a great price but my daughter had to scratch the rosin before it actually worked it is great I would buy this again.

Works great. However, it was cracked a little when we opened it. I think that may shorten how long it lasts but it is working fine now

Rosin is a great quality. It’s a nice size with a great wrap around so it fits nicely in my daughter violin case.
