I've had this now for 9 months and doing a whole home remodel this nail set/punch has been invaluable. I own a set of 'regular' nail sets but I reach for this almost every time I need one. The 'short' end is extremely handy. Very well made, heavy duty, built for generations. It has a typical rough finish like many tools from Japan but that doesn't bother me, as a matter of fact I like it. It's a working tool after all. One note, it is bigger than most and it will leave a larger hole to fill, but again, no bother, I'm filling a hole anyway no matter what kind of nail set I use. Great tool!

I really like the option to use it like a normal nail set or the “low profile” way. Very handy. Well made and solid. I’m very happy with this.

A simple tool. Use for me is finish nail setting in narrow places that are difficult for hammering with out surface damage.

Love this nail set. It’s especially good for large headed nails. The offset top set allows you to get into tight corners but also hit hard to drive in my case rust old cut nails with out worries of hitting your hand. Like many Japanese wood working products simple elegant effective design.

I found that with this nail set I could punch loose nails in a variety of positions and locations with ease. It is easy to hold, easy to hit with a hammer, and it works. Right tool for the right job.

It’s nice and beefy which is great for me. Al the nailsets I’ve ever purchased in the US are always too hard and brittle. They usually break the first time I try to set a nail with one. This one seems softer (I can see light hammer marks from when I struck it) but still more than hard enough for its purpose.Four stars because it does have a very rough finish, though that’s not a huge deal and doesn’t affect the functionality at all of this toolUpdate: going on almost a year of very frequent use as a professional trim carpenter, and other than it being dinged up a little from constantly thwacking it with a hammer, it’s still not chipped at all. Very pleased with it. It sinks brads and frame nails with ease.I previously gave it four stars because of the very rough finish on it, but I’ve since changed my mind about that since it’s a non-issue and doesn’t affect the tool in any way other than cosmetically.

Love the function to hit nails in with the side, saves you hitting your fingers by mistake with a conventional nail punch
