Best I’ve found for my kettle. For a 6 hour burn I have to refill the Weber charcoal holder twice. But more importantly the burn is so consistent. Wavers 3-5 degrees max throughout the smoke. Shoulda bought more over Black Friday!

The charcoal and smoky flavor and cooks well it also comes in big chunks so you can use less and allows good air flow four stars

Tried a bunch: big green egg, primo, cowboy and royal oak. KJ xl has been by far the best. The others have been worse than disappointing. Shattered shards that leave ash clogging the airflow with rocks left over in every cook. Still need to try rockwood, jealous devil and fogo. I hear good things but just can’t speak to them. Good luck and happy grilling.3/5/25: tried Jealous Devil. Also good. Maybe slightly smaller than the biggest kamado Joe pieces but still excellent.
