Perfect fit replacement for failed and leaking batteries in a couple of Uniden GMR638

Uniden old walkie talkies needed new packs, these are the correct replacement and about double the mAH of the originals. Initially no power out of the box, but they did charge fine inside the walkie talkies. After about 6 hours, still no power on for the Unidens. I fiddled with the packs with the cover off, finally figured out these don't press down far enough for the + and - to make contact.The problem is the triangle "nib" at the top of the pack is mis-shaped compared to the Uniden original, and won't push the pack down far enough. I really wanted the 1000mAH so I made shims from thick paper (3x5 index card) and taped these to the top of the pack. Much snugger fit, and now these make the correct contact in the bottom of the battery case. The paper shims need to be cut so they don't interfere with the battery cover, if they stick up the case cover won't snap closed.I've left both Unidens on standby for over 12 hours and no decrease in the battery charge indicator, pleased with the charge life in these.

Purchase these battery packs for our walkie talkies. Unfortunately only one was usable, the other would not charge, completely deadLuckily were are still able to use AAA batteries in the walkies.Will order again because of the low costHopefully both will be usable🤞ðŸ»
