TLDR; it looks nice, provides really close accuracy to my internal probed temperature gauge, has a nice large display, but is permanent placement, has no always on functionality, and no easy access battery replacement.I got this to replace a wired digital thermometer. It already has a battery in it, and was easy to peel and stick the backing.I like that it has a large digital display. The temperature difference from my internal probed to this outside mounted temperature monitor was about .6c which is pretty good imo.I didn’t like how the display doesn’t stay on as I got this to see at a distance but I have to go tap the button to make the display turn on. Great for the battery but not what I wanted. The one I have with a probe has an always on display and a replaceable LR44 battery that is easy to replace. While I stuck it on before looking too closely at the back, I did not see an easy option for accessing the battery on this tank thermometer.For the mounting, my probed one has a suction cup for easy replacement or removal. If I wanted to move it or replace the battery with this one, the sticky bit would be garbage and they did not include an additional sticky pad.

Quick Review:I've been keeping fish for over 35 years now, and have 7 tanks running.I have tried every kind of thermometer over the years.I really like the look of this one...it's compact and sleek.It does not require any probe that needs to be inserted into the tank which I appreciate. It simply sticks to the glass and has a sensor on the back that reads the temperature.The digital backlit display is extremely easy to read...unlike ones that stick on.Note that it is touch sensitive...the display turns off to save battery life.The only thing I don't like is the fact that it will have to be removed from the glass in order to change the battery. The backing will no longer stick so it's going to require you to clean the old tape off, and then cut and re-apply more.Other than that, it works good and looks great.4.5 stars here.
