I've always wanted a cucu clock. This is beautifully crafted. I'm not sure how I feel about the cucu echo. Other than that, I'm very satisfied.

This is a very nice looking clock and it has the ability to turn off the "cuckoos" or it automatically silences itself during the nighttime. The clock is large for the price and doesn't require winding. All in all it is a good value. Unfortunately the "cuckoo" noise is very artificial and annoying. Each hour receives a "cuckoo" and a slightly quieter "cuckoo echo". For example, 10:00 AM has 20 cuckoos. If you are a cuckoo clock purist, this is not the clock for you. If you just want a large, attractive clock with or without the cuckoo noise, this is a great option to consider.

We love everything about this clock:- you can move the handles and trigger the cuckoo (most important feature for our 4 year-old who loves chiming clocks. We bought this for his birthday).- you can trigger the cuckoo with the push of a button that's on the side of the clock- it has the looks of an expensive cuckoo clock without the price tag, which pleases us, parents.- Cuckoo sound is not annoying and almost soothing. Loudness can be lowered down one notch. We are very happy with this purchase and our 4-year-old loves it. We recommend this product.

It’s very cheap looking I’m disappointed in the cuckoo sound and I hung it on the wall for a while until I can find something I like better

Both my wife and I were separately brought up with families who owned traditional cuckoo clocks. So after weeks of research, I chose this one as a Christmas present since I couldn't afford the 'real' ones and some of the less-expensive Black Forest types had a range of reviews. This clock is fairly lightweight and bigger than I expected. It's also very shiny, with very cheap hands and dial. The product description says it's 'handcrafted' but honestly I can't think of a single part that could fit that description. I'm not even sure it's wood, with the front at least looking more like a plastic imitation, although the simple, thin back panel that you remove to get at the battery compartment is wood-like (actually kind of a thin particle-board type of material). All of these things could be overlooked if it weren't for two issues, one worse than the other. I'll start with the least annoying, and that's the chains with 'cones' or 'weights' on the end. These 'weights' are really just for show, weighing very little, and while they're nothing special, they match the overall aesthetic. The problem with them though is that the chains aren't adjustable. Again, not a deal breaker, but you're going to have to keep them set at the lengths provided in the factory. However, the biggest headache with this clock is the awful cuckoo recording. Note, this isn't about the timing being off, although it was out of sync when we got it. The cuckoo was sounding for 2 o'clock when it was actually 5, but that was soon fixed by just moving the hands to the number corresponding to the number of cuckoos we originally heard. After that, it was fine. BUT that sound... who in their right minds decided that what a cuckoo clock needed was a babbling brook and the echo of the cuckoo after ever 'chirp'? I've heard cuckoos in the wild. I can't think of a single time I've heard them with streams making as much noise as the birds themselves, and certainly can't think of a time when I've heard a cuckoo's call echo through the trees. This just sounds ridiculous and makes the clock seem even cheaper than it is. Also, possibly worse - the echo is almost as loud as the original cuckoo, meaning that at 12 o'clock you're going to get the sound of a stream followed by 24 cuckoo calls. On top of this, the light sensor isn't sensitive at all, so if there's enough light in your room to be able to read the clock, there's enough light to trigger the cuckoo on the hour. Oh and while there's a setting for a lower volume, it's very nearly identical to the full volume sound, making the 'low volume' setting almost useless. While it's not a horrible clock, a nicer dial, adjustable chains and a cuckoo that was a simple cuckoo sound with no echo and no other effects would have meant an improved rating. A less-plastic look and less fake shine would have been even nicer, but honestly it's the unnecessary stream and echo that's really driving us crazy here.

I love the clock, its great that you don't have to wind it. When I received mine, it was cuckooing too many times and yes I'm accounting for the echos. Apparently this is a common problem in cuckoo clocks whether they are battery operated or mechanical. This is how I fixed mine. I moved the minute hand slowly allowing it to cuckoo every time the minute hand reached 12. When I reached 1 o'clock, I counted the number of cuckoos, allowing for the echos. Mine had 3 extra. To fix this, hold the minute hand still at the 12 position while you slowly and carefully move the hour hand separately to the hour that has the correct number of cuckoos. Eg. If your clock has 4 cuckoos when you are at 1 o'clock then move the hour hand (while holding the minute hand still) to the 4th hour. Once you have done this then your clock should have the correct number of cuckoos.

Great cuckoo for the money. This one is battery operated as opposed to mechanical clockwork. I was looking for a cuckoo clock without the tic, tic, tic. This one fits the bill nicely. The volume of the hourly cuckoo is adjustable. Has an automatic night mode.love this clock.

Love the clock! Good quality for the price. The echo is as loud as the 1st cuckoo.. our clock did not have the right cuckoos so found the review below very helpful to fix it by holding the minute hand and the move the hour hand to the right time. All good!
