About this item

  • Cobalt steel tools are similar to high-speed steel, but with more cobalt for improved performance when cutting harder metals such as stainless steel or nickel alloys
  • Titanium nitride coatings add a hard layer of gold-colored ceramic to the surface that extends tool life and permits faster cutting speeds than uncoated tools
  • Round shanks allow use with a wide variety of toolholding systems
  • When run in a counterclockwise direction (right-hand cut) spiral fluted tools evacuate chips up and out of the cut to reduce clogging
  • 90 degree angle

KEO ZErO flute countersink and deburring tools are simple, all-purpose tools made of Cobalt that provide flawless countersinking and deburring. The chatter-free cutting action requires minimal power. The microsmooth CNC precision ground construction produces clean, smooth cutting without smearing on a variety of materials. The tool especially excels in countersinking or deburring holes in aluminum, plastics and other nonmetallics. I've used countersinks all my life but never needed to use one on metal before. Through-hole countersinks are new to me and the design sounded like it could be effective, especially in metal. Unfortunately, I learned first hand how poorly they can be made when I bought a cheaper brand BEFORE I purchased this one. Happily, this one proved to be properly made, the size I needed, it did a beautiful job every time I touched it to the steel (see the 2 pics) and it's absolutely worth the price.Regards the 90 degree cutting choice, I bought this bit for countersinking 4 stainless steal screws into holes that I drilled into two 7/64" thick steel bars. I specifically wanted minimum thickness without sacrificing strength so I purchased this 90 degree bit and metric screws which gave me a lower profile fit, good strength and a pivotable joint. I could not be happier that I gave this one a try.

Right off the bat, I countersunk 175 holes. 1/4” holes to to flush mount screws in 1/2” thick, 304 stainless steel. Stainless is notorious for killing tools, and this little guy took it in stride and went right back in the drawer, ready for the next job. Love this guy.

I used this counter sink on baltic birch plywood and it cut a very clean hole. Metric screws use a 90° counter sink not 82° like US screws.

You will love these types of counter sink bits for aluminum. I don't know how long they last but they are the smoothest cut counter sinks I have ever used.

I use it primarily for aluminum, by hand or in a hand drill. Works great, no chatter. I'll be buying more sizes soon!
