It is very well made, great optics and really helps clean the nights sky.

I am amateur so I cannot go into detail but bases on the pics I took with and without the lens, I noticed there was less yellowish hue to the picture. Not by a lot but for the price and what I was trying to achieve it was just fine. Also it saved my lens, unfortunately my tripod tipped and the lens filter broke, but it spared the lens from damage - saved me a couple of hundred dollars.

I live in a bortle 5. At that light level this filter works great. Can't speak to higher (city) light levels but I spect it would help alot. My only complaint and this is for all k&f filters is I wish the threads where cut just a bit smoother.

Shooting in the city always undermines the results because of light pollution. But even in Bolter meter 4 light bollution I was able to use this filter get the desired effects I wanted in my photos. As a novice astrophotography I recommend.

I have had this filter for about two years now, and it gets used maybe 4 times a year-so not heavily. I do think I see a slight benefit in reducing the yellowish tint from light pollution, but, I have the same problem as the other lower reviews-the coating get a smear on them-and for no good reason. I am meticulous about keeping my gear spotless. I also use a lens warmer when I am shooting the night skies, which keeps the condensation off of the lens, so there is no good reason from a user perspective that the coatings should get smeared. And, it does not clean, the smear just moves around worse. That being said, I would not recommend this product.

I really like this lens, I ordered a 77mm, fits good, my problem is it came unsealed, & very handled, im very disappointed in the case. For the price of the lens to arrived in a generic type, fits all case, is a not good. I can come up with a different case for it, it still bugs me. I'm debating on a exchange, the lens seems ok.!!!! Just, I ordered a new lens, not a OPEN BOX... I like sealed case's, Not Open beat up ones that come in a hand sealed green clear generic bag so nothing falls out... The only thing missing is a big orange sticker saying USED...Other then that it's a very nice clear lens, I just have some thinking to do... I worry that it may become defective after a bit, you just never know. I have other very nice lens's from these guys, they didn't come this way...!!!!I hope this isn't the New thing with they're lens's...Very bummed... ;(Shipping was fast.Thank you...God Bless...

Early tests in Bortle 8 skies are promising, though I have only had one night worth of tests. It was confusing, and you may want to look. I don't know if this was returned before, but I got a box for a different filter but the correct filter was inside.

I use it for a couple times and saw no recognizable effect for city light pollution. I guess it is designed for filtering yellow light of sodium lamps but these days cities are replacing those sodium lights with LED lights.
