I already had a hole in my bass drum, so I just placed it around the hole in less than a minute. It improved the feel, punch, and low end significantly. Giving it that more desired kick drum sound most drummers are looking for. You can even tell the difference it makes when playing with a practice pad on the bass drum. The design of the KickPort extends into the bass drum a little hiding the ability to see inside the bass drum as well, which I personally like because it looks more professional. The white KickPort came with a white ring that you can use to make your bass drum hole. I was told the KickPort works with any ring size between 5 to 5 (1/2) inches

I am really enjoying the Kick Port. Something about its shape really allows a lower fundamental to come out of the kick drum. I am currently using them on several bass drums. Although they appear to be quite a bit cumbersome they actually seem to minimize damage from putting a hole in your front base from Head. And they actually make a difference than just having a hole.

I gave the kickport a try just to see if it actually did anything. WOW! The low end musical tone that I get out of my Greatch Catalina Maple 22" is unbelievable!Now, that said, the greatest difference I feel is only acoustic. There was little difference between a regular port hole and a kickport hole when it comes time to mic'ing the kick. If you're playing large venues and festivals where you always mic the kick, you may not hear any benefit through the PA. But, if you play smaller bars and cafes with an un-mic'ed kit, this thing is a must! It really helps cut through the band.

Very good idea for any bass drum! The port really cleaned up the the sound of my bass drum. Nobody likes the ring that many bass drums naturaly have. The port took away MOST of the ring yet didn't' leave it as only a flat "thud" either. I also added a folded towel to achieve the tone I prefer. This port is one of the best things I've done for my kit!

Kickports make such a huge difference!! I bought one so many years ago and loved it. I them had an idea to put two into my bass drum head. Having two of them makes your bass drum thud!! My 22" bass drum sounds like a 24" bass now with two kickports. Never turning back!!

I use this great addition on all of my bass drums regardless of the application or venue. The improvement is immediate and very noticeable. Once even the keyboard player noticed how much better my bass drum sounded, enough said....

Got this for the drummer in our band ([...]) and we couldn't be happier!For smaller gigs when we don't mic the kit, it gives the bass drum that extra KICK to keep up with the guitards!When we do mic the kit, it serves as a perfect port for the bass drum mic.BTW...the logo sticker peels off easier if you don't like having logos on your drumhead.

Kickport does add bottom end to my 18 inch Gretsch kick. Not a big difference but an improvement. Putting the gasket through the bass drum head was a tough job. It seemed too tight to fit around the opening hole. I eventually was able to pop it in.

Well made and easy to fit. Sounds great on stage. A bit expensive, but worth it.
