How did you come up with the idea for this product?
It began as a family effort to help make life easier for Mama Ola, because she was having hard time in the kitchen with her arthritic hands. After brainstorming through many ideas such as ergonomic cutting boards and Star-Trek style utensils, we settled on a cordless electric can opener because that was the most difficult task for her.

Easy to use and pretty color. We have actually purchased a second one to put in our RV. It doesn't take up much room and can easy be place in a utensils drawer. Very easy to clean. You don't have to hold it down. You put it on the can and push the button it does everything itself. I will note that it was a little tricky at first it actually cuts a small line around the outside of the top of the can. It is barley noticeable, so becareful when remove the lid as it is super sharp. Very good quality.

I have to feel very strongly about something in order to write a review about it. I'm a busy gal! But this! This incredible product deserves it. Let's begin with the fact that it's small enough to throw in a drawer. It does not take up space on your counter like other can openers. That's the reason why I was stuck with manual, hand held openers my whole life. I was not ready to sacrifice any counter space for a can opener. Next, you set it and forget it. I was working on the stovetop doing something else while this was busy opening my can on the counter. You just pop it on, press the button and it does all the dirty work for you. Another plus, it opens the side of the can (not the top) which creates a smooth, safer surface when the top comes off. Not like that crazy jagged, sharp thing your'e left with when you use any other opener. And finally, when it's done, you lift the can opener effortlessly off the can and it comes off with the cap because the cap has a magnetic piece on it and it holds onto it until you take it off. It's just so rare that you run into a product that actually makes your life easier without any cons. Here it is! Stop looking! I'm totally going to buy one for everyone in my family who cooks. I know they will open their gift and be like...huh? Really? A can opener? But just wait....It's the best!

UPDATE: Well, just beyond the return date, the head of this gadget caught the edge of a can's label and then got tangled in it and came to a dead stop. We tried to pick the paper away and gently but firmly release it from the can, but its deathlike grip wouldn't yield. By the time we were able to wrestle it off the lip of the can, the head was slightly cocked from the effort. That was enough to render this $35.00 can opener into a useless utensil, even after trying to straighten the head once removed. What I thought was a dream come true turned into an expensive mistake. Unless they design a release mechanism, I would steer clear.ORIGINAL: I have resorted to using manual can openers for... well, forever, as I have never had an automatic can opener that worked for more than a minute. When I saw this, I thought it was a little spendy for a can opener, but my 69 year old hands are getting cranky, so I thought what the hell, I'll give it a try. I wish I had more canned goods to open because this little gadget is alive! Which is why I have named him Claude. Good boy, Claude.

Purchased one of these to use while working as a travel nurse. I fell in love. Super easy to use, safe to use (eliminates the sharp edges by opening side instead), extra durable, and perfectly sized for travel. Fast forward, I accidentally let the batteries corrode, so I purchased another through the "buy again" option. The new one would only open 1/4 cans. The rest of the time, it would just spin around the can endlessly without piercing the can. Customer service was a nightmare. Had to send multiple emails, photos, and videos over a few weeks to finally get a warranty replacement. I would easily give 5 stars if it were easier & qucker to either get repair or replacement through the warranty. It was so frustrating, I almost deducted 2 stars. I would purchase again because I've never found another battery-operated unit that functions as well.

I bought this product in November 2023 and I think it’s one of the best kitchen product there are. As a RA patient with severely crippled hands, I’m able to use it easily. I haven’t been able to open cans, even with electric openers for quite a while, but this is so easy. I would recommend it to anyone with or without a handicap. I will admit that it just stopped working after 3 months, however I contacted the manufacturer and they replaced it. Excellent, fast customer service.

This automatic can-opener is efficient and easy to position on the top of any can. I really like the fact that it stops by itself when it gets all the way around the top of a can. Also, the safety feature that it doesn't leave a sharp edge is especially helpful. Designed to run with inserted batteries (instead of being rechargeable), it's quite convenient. Although it's a bit pricey, this clever can-opener is well worth what I paid. Five out of five stars!

With arthritis, it is not easy to hold cans under a standup can opener. This sets on top of can. It does the work.

So far it is very good.Purchased this can opener after watching a video on YouTube - EQUIPMEOT , great demonstration by Lindsay who is an occupational therapist - her explanation was fantastic - comparison of other products was non judgmental - I would highly recommend this product and also EQIPMEOT.
