Bought these exclusively for the silicone dots to help grip hot plates and pans that normal hot pads would slip off of and they work great! Other silicone pads have an entire surface of silicone making them rigid and difficult to manipulate. These only have the dots which provide just enough gripping power, without affecting the rigidity of the overall pad. Very happy with their performance and they look great - could confidently be hung near an oven as part of the decor. The exterior is made of impressively high quality cotton, so I imagine they'd hold up well in the wash, but uncertain about the durability of the silicone dots. I did try to pry one off with my fingernail but couldn't manage to even get one started, so I'm reasonably confident they'll last.They'd also make a very practical and usable housewarming gift. We got the dark grey and they go perfectly with our decor, so I imagine the other colors would compliment just as nicely.While I'm generally very happy and could easily love the pads, they lost a star because they come with obnoxiously large tags (seriously, they're huge, cumbersome and only get in the way.) that are permanently sewn into the side seam of the hot pad. On the first pad I tried to rip one off, but it tore the seam it was stitched into wide open (thankfully my wife can fix it with her sewing machine). Learning from my mistake, I cut the tag from the second pad with scissors, but of course it left a very visible, unsightly strip of white tag at the side seam. The tags are made of a synthetic sateen that will easily melt on the first pan you remove from a 400°F oven. The manufacturer seriously needs to rethink the tags. If it's a regulatory thing and they have to be there (think Venezuela or California), then make them easily tearable. If they're going for permanency, that's fine too, just make them 85% smaller.(I'm kicking myself for not snapping a picture of the tags for you)

I just received this bundle yesterday, so I don't know what the future holds. But after using them for one day, I'm very pleased with the entire package. The cloths are bigger than most but thankfully not overly big, & they appear to be good quality, & I love the deep red color that goes with my kitchen decor. They have a nice sewn hem around the edges so I'm hoping they don't fray like all my others purchased elsewhere. They're not too thick, but not thin either. Just the way I like them! They are very useable & durable; not just for looking pretty (altho they are very nice looking too!). The pot holders are big & look cool as they have little grippy things on one side making it easier to hold on to hot dishes; as does the glove. They're kinda stiff, but they're new, so I expect that until after they're used awhile. So, so far I really like them & will probably order more down the road after a few washings & see how they hold up. I would & will recommend to my friends.

These are great, the mit is a little smaller than my old ones but it's ok because I have small hands. Nice that they have the silicone bumps, too for grip.
